Floating skimmer baskets when pump is on

Other more qualified members will chime in, when was the last time you cleaned your filter? It sounds like you have almost no suction from the skimmer with poor skimming and the basket floating. Do leaves and debris also float? Do you have a lot of air coming out of the return jets? You could...

Heat Pump versus Natural Gas Heater in North Alabama

I don't really know the impact of the heater on my electric bill. We only use it in the spring and fall to heat and sometimes we use the cooler if it's really hot. I add the liquid cover after I've started to heat the pool in the spring and then in the fall when temps drop and I'm trying to...

Heat Pump versus Natural Gas Heater in North Alabama

I went with a heat pump in the Nashville area for a few reasons. I felt the cost of NG would have been more expensive to run. I've never owned a NG heater but for my heat pump I have to run the pump at a higher speed so factor that in for the cost calculation if NG can run at lower temps...

Yes and yes. It's probably overkill but I'd rather be safe than sorry

    Winterize Fiberglass pool

I use a gizmo for the return line. Then I have a cut up pool noodle that I stuff around the gizmo and screw the lid shut. I stuff a few of the pool noodles into the skimmer opening.

    Intellichlor IC60 flow

Even though I didn't agree with your assessment I went ahead and cleaned the filter (not 100% but enough to get most of the junk out) That seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks. I've learned years ago that when I'm on this forum or one of my other interest's forum, I try to follow the advice...

    Intellichlor IC60 flow

I haven't cleaned it this season but it was clean at the start. Theoretically shouldn't need to clean it but once a year given the size. The filter in the past was smaller and never had that problem with the ichlor 30. The flow at the eyes seems like normal. Pool is perfectly clear.

    Intellichlor IC60 flow

When my pool was built they installed an Ichlor 30, which for my pool is on the small size. The cell was thankfully large enough to keep up with my 20,000 gallon pool. At the end of last year the cell seemed to go out so I ordered an intellichlor IC60 and by ordering online and installing...

    Friends pool

I know with my pool (fiberglass) I have to be careful with how much I drain out. Does this apply to vinyl liners?

    Friends pool

Have a neighbors pool that I just tested. Ph 7 Ch 0.5 CC 1 Calcium 80 TA 50 Salt 2600 CYA 100+ Issue is they noticed no chlorine so they added a couple of days ago and it turned cloudy. They turned the super chlorinated on yesterday. Vinyl liner pool with swg and sand filter. I told them to...

    Concrete damage

I'm definitely not a concrete expert but I'm surprised I had damage like this to my pool deck. I can't think of anything that could have caused it. I left a sump pump on the concrete for a day or two but I've done that before in different spots. Any ideas, I'd hate for it to happen again...

Salt water pool and CYA question

I would want something in the pool. Maybe not all the way to swg levels but something. When adding salt, don’t run your swg for 24 hours. Check with the manual

Salt water pool and CYA question

Don't feel bad, I think I disagreed with my pool builder on everything pertaining to equipment and chemicals. When he bought 4 bags of salt for my salt water pool and poured a gallon of chlorine in the pool and told me I was good for the next week I realized I was wise for not trusting his...

Keeping Pool Open - First Timer Decision

The first winter I just ran the pump 24-7 and when it really dropped down I ran it a little faster. There was a week that the temp dropped enough that if the power went out I would have been screwed. Now I just winterize it for piece of mind. I don't have a cover either and it will accumulate...

    Ichlor 30 Dead?

I assume the hardest part will be to cut the pvc wider on one side to accept the longer swg. Is there anything else I need to worry about other than plugging it in? The power source seems to be the same as the Ichlor 30

    Ichlor 30 Dead?

I think I'm better off just installing myself and not worrying about the warranty. I wonder if anyone has experience with this company. It seems like the price is too good to be true for IC60...

    Ichlor 30 Dead?

With hayward or pentair, I'd have to pay someone to install to receive the warranty, correct? I'd need to factor that into the cost but I'm glad you mentioned the IC40 cheaper with the current power source already installed. That's interesting that the % increments are so crude since the...

    Ichlor 30 Dead?

Should I avoid going too big? I would think it's just a matter of expected chlorine production. I just thought why not go 50-60,000 gallon size. I run my pool nearly 24/7. I'm leaning towards the circupool models. The pvc pipe that currently has the ichlor 30 installed is practically sitting...

    Ichlor 30 Dead?

When I go into the diagnostic display is shows 9551 hours, if this swg has a lifespan of 10,000 hours I guess mine is dead? Cell light is flashing green and display reads cell. I did an acid bath last year even though it didn't seem to need it so I doubt that it has a lot of scale build up.

    Handheld pool vacuum battery powered

Is the fine filter sold by the same company or is it just a skimmer sock? Is it reusable?

    Handheld pool vacuum battery powered

I didn't realize that these existed until about a week ago and I think it could solve my issue with my pool. My normal vacuum is great and I have no problem with it but it doesn't get the corners very well and the only way I can effectively remove dead algae is to manually vacuum. Has anyone...

Ichlor 30 cell only for sale

Nashville TN area. $750 I bought an open box item that's exactly like the one I currently own. I plugged it into my system to make sure it would light up and it does. I can swap mine for this one if you'd like to see it running like normal.
