    Polytec Pools Phone Number?

Thanks! I just grabbed one of the OmniPl units (last HLBPRO4SW apparently). I need to sell my renovation next month so it's just in time. I still need a salt cell and plumbing kit though. Im not sure but I can just add a T-Cell-15 and a P-KIT to this right? I have everything else working...

    Polytec Pools Phone Number?

I lost it... does anyone have it?

New Product: Hayward OmniPL HLBPLUS4W and HLBPRO4SW

Has anyone picked this up recently? I'm ready to spring for it but it seems removed from polytecpools and I can't find it anywhere. Even the local installer has been weeks without getting back with news.

How Do You Clean this Basket: Quality Superflo

We are overseas at a leased home with one of these pentair? pumps with a nut and a bracket and nobody can figure out how to get it open. It must be an old style because I couldn't find a manual either:

Do you mean it required DIY alterations to the heater connection? Also, I asked about the remote since my equipment is at least 20 feet from the house, and Hayward said you can splice in Cat6 and you'll be good to go. I wonder if the warranty is affected though.

New Product: Hayward OmniPL HLBPLUS4W and HLBPRO4SW

My old single speed is starting to rattle and in California it's pulling maybe $100 in electric a month so I'm probably going to go with the VS at the same time. Did you figure out the difference between the VS models? For 230V I see a SP2670020VSP with no price listed and a W3SP2603VSP listed...

CYA Test (50 ppm reference images)

For anyone else who is as frustrated by the uncertainty involved in the CYA test, here are some images to help reassure, at least. Obviously, everyone's vision is different and images are only so good, but comparison helps. When they say keep the sun behind you, it's more than "make sure it's...

    First SLAM

Thank you! Based on 10 pucks I bet it's around 30. I have 40 oz by volume CYA in the sock now and I expect to cruise up to a 60 ppm plateau while I maintain it as a liquid chlorine pool. When I manage to get the SWCG replaced i should already be close to optimal. My salt meter readings continue...

    First SLAM

I finally passed the overnight test. I had the waterfalls off and I think that drew out my SLAM since they have small pools that really need to remain in circulation. Lesson learned. CYA test remains frustrating, but using the calc as a reference, I think I've got it down as well as one could...

Excellent! Perhaps we can compare notes as we (inevitably) troubleshoot ;)

Thank you. Sometimes you just have to trust your mathematics, eh? ?

    First SLAM

So do you err high or low with the CYA readings? It is especially important during SLAM since shock levels vary greatly from 20, 30, 40 ppm CYA etc.

    First SLAM

aI dont care personally. If it doesnt affect the SLAM I'll just wait til FC is dropping naturally to worry about the rest. Also, the sun came out and I did the CYA a couple of times. I think the trouble is compounded by a psychosomatic affect or "visual memory" if that makes sense, and keeping...

    First SLAM

Thank you, thorough and clear as i could ask for. I have a 50ppm CYA sample in the mail and I'm thinking about making a light box since sunny days are 50/50 here. My gut tells me I'm looking at 30-40 CYA results but I need to be sure at least which side of the reference I'm at. Last night I...

    First SLAM

I just got my new filter cartridges and plumbing tip-top so I'm about to SLAM the tap water refill (I drained it dry). FYI I added 2 gallons of 10% chlorine and 10 crushed pucks a few days ago to hold me over while waiting on filter parts. This (with the solar cover on) gave me the FC and CYA...

PSA: Hayward Tristar Union Fittings (SPX3200UNKIT) are 2-1/2" OD (listed as 2" fittings)

Good news, the 2-1/2" slip coupling was perfect, meaning the SPX3200 union fitting is 2.5 inches outside diameter: No leaks on the new joint at the 24 hour mark (purple primer + christy's blue glue). I still have one leak from the small bulkhead fitting o ring on the cartridge filter, but I...

PSA: Hayward Tristar Union Fittings (SPX3200UNKIT) are 2-1/2" OD (listed as 2" fittings)

So, I did a thing, and now I need to cement in a new union, which for an SP3220 is Hayward SPX3200UNKIT and every source lists it as a 2" union. The unsettling part is that my unions measure 2 1/4 ID. In a few days I'll find out. The local supplier wants $50 for a pair of them, so filtration...

New Product: Hayward OmniPL HLBPLUS4W and HLBPRO4SW

Update: No official price or availability yet; Hayward says perhaps a few weeks. I wasn't sure what was different but they clarified that regardless it is a 4-relay / 6 capacity system instead of 4/10 like the omni logic so perhaps it ends up being cheaper but no one can promise. PolyTec is...

Cracked and Rusty Artificial Stone Repair

I just painted it with bonding adhesive and I'll mix up some sifted concrete (no gravel) in an hour or so. I want to get the worst of it patched up while I have easy access and a dry skimmer.
