    Just fired the pool guy

Reviving this old thread to congratulate myself on the bonehead move of the week... It's been 4-months since my last post and everything has been going swimmingly (pun-intended ;)). I neglected my pool for a few days and was finally able to check the levels this morning. I knew the pool would...

    Just fired the pool guy

It has been a busy week of water testing (everything is in PoolMath). I am trying to get a better sense of how much chlorine is used on a daily/weekly basis. It seems like the pool, which isn't very big (4,200 gallons) needs roughly 1 cup of 10% bleach daily. I was trying to lower TA a little...

Thursday 4/30 update. @mknauss - with FC down to an appropriate level, this might be the first accurate reading of everything else.- FC 7.5 CC 0 pH 7.8 TA 110 CH 250 CYA 50 81 degrees @JJ_Tex - the color we've been waiting for! Question on the TA Test: 2 drops R-0007 and 5 drops R-0008...

No extra charge for chemicals. Just the monthly bill. He was using test strips. I saw him barely dip them in the water. It looked more like he was painting the surface of the pool with them... :ROFLMAO: When I first mentioned that something seemed off, he told me I needed a new filter...

    Just fired the pool guy

@mguzzy We have a winner! :ROFLMAO: I just looked at the calendar, and the last time the pool guy 'serviced' the pool was 10 days ago on 4/16. The only thing I have done since then is check the levels. @JJ_Tex Yup, still Fanta. A few days at least until lemonade!

@mknauss - Thanks! CYA of 50 = SLAM FC of 20. I may be swimming by the weekend! ?

    Just fired the pool guy

@mariane - with a CYA of 45, SLAM would be an FC of 18. Still a bit to go. Chlorine / CYA Chart @JJ_Tex - Nice! haha

@mknauss and @JJ_Tex - Thanks to all your help I went ahead and became a Gold Supporter of TFP! While I am just starting out, I have learned a lot and I would rather support this site than pay the pool guy for another month of not doing his job.

@JJ_Tex Bah! Good to know. I may keep posting them to see what orange color description you come up with next! @mknauss Noted. Just subscribed and loaded the data into PoolMath. Based on your recommendation, I will give it two days to let the levels drop. Next update will be Thursday 4/23.
