    Question about the 3HP Relays.

Quick question about the relays in my Jandy Aqualink CP. I am assuming that each relay will only run one device. I know on the 12v out there are two connectors that are attached to the wire that goes to the specific device on the Jandy system. Why are there 4 connectors on the bottom half of...

Question about adding a Air Blower

I lubed the lid gasket last night, I will try the drain plug next. Do you think that the Impeller can cause any of this?

Question about adding a Air Blower

Sorry, not a big expert on all the Head Loss stuff :) but what you are saying is you are thinking that on the suction line, I am getting air coming in at either the pump or possibly the pipes?

Question about adding a Air Blower

mas985, As always, thanks for your honest and expert information. I was basing the 10-13 GPM for each jet on the average flow that the spec sheet was talking about. They were saying if you want a more Therapeutic type pressure then you would want around 20 GPM. I know I'm not going to get...

Question about adding a Air Blower

The pump itself is not reliable. I really couldn't tell you what the shape of this thing is in. Its old, may not have a good impeller and could be sucking air from someplace. With that said, I'm thinking about getting a new pump. I would like a recommendation on the HP, type and possible...

Question about adding a Air Blower

Thanks for the info. I wish I could upload the small video of the pump basket. I looks like a swirling tornado and not just a air pocket. Weird.

Question about adding a Air Blower

Folks, I had some time this weekend to work on a few things to see if I could get more pressure out of the jets on the spa. On thing I did was block off 6 of the 8 jets to see what it would do and I can say the pressure was nice and hard. I then unblocked another two for a total of 4 jets...

Question about adding a Air Blower

Thanks for that info. Just to be clear in my situation, if the PSI is below 9, then that's a problem? If so, would it be the Pump or Plumbing to look at. If it is reading 9-10 psi at the pump then what kind of pressure would you think I should be getting out of the Jet orifices (Thats without...

Question about adding a Air Blower

By how much do you think? I can remove the return valve and just leave the suction unless you think water will still back flow from the jets to the return line.

Question about adding a Air Blower

I would say the pump is below water level, but not by more then a couple feet. I don't really know why he used Valves. My guess is so that you can shut off the water flow if you need to change out the pump or do repairs. I know on my main pump, I have a ball valve on the main suction line...

Question about adding a Air Blower

I can take a pic tonight when I get home from Work but like I said, its very basic. The Valves are pentair 2". I have them wide open on each pipe.

As I stated, the pic is not of my actual pump. Its one I found on google that is close to the setup of mine. I have put circles about where the diverter valves are located on each line

Question about adding a Air Blower

mas985, Awesome. Thanks so much for clearing that up. I will work in it this weekend. As for as a picture of the Pump setup, I can get one for you however, its prety straight forward. There is only one 2" pipe going into the suction inlet and a 2" pipe coming out of the return on the pump...

Question about adding a Air Blower

You are correct about the original Jets and how they are connected. I was going to find some plugs and close off a couple jets to see how it did. I am also going to get a test bladder and see if there might be any clogs. mas985 requested to do a pressure test at the pump suction drain. Do...

Question about adding a Air Blower

mas985, I have taken the inserts out and still they dont give off much pressure. You Mention doing a pressure measurement at the pump return drain plug. How exactly would this be done (I'm a newby) is the plug the one on the front of the basket?

Question about adding a Air Blower

Ex Mguzzy, thank you for your response. When you mention your spa and having 4 jets, do you also have an air mixture with it. If so, that is my problem. The PB didn't plumb for air and I only have water going through them.

Question about adding a Air Blower

So let me ask you then. If you take the Jet insert out of the housing, there is just a 1" opening for water to come through. The housings where plumbed directly to the 2" PVC pipe. So really it would be like having 8 1" eyeball jet returns. In that scenario, how much GPM per return / jet...
