    Started SLAM Last Night

No but I just test it. At 2:00 I was at FC 21 and CC 1.0. At 9:15 I was at FC 30, CC 1.5. For the life of me why the heck is my CC not leveling out??????

    Started SLAM Last Night

I would consider the fact I added a gallon and a half at 10:12pm last night and my reading was 26 this morning, I would say that I've completed the OCLT. Would you agree?

    Started SLAM Last Night

at 2:40 I lost 3.5ppm from 8am and it's been full sun today. I supposed that is a good sign I'm losing less and less.

Is it common for the CC to not go down until the FC is holding?

    Started SLAM Last Night

8am update. FC at 12:45 am was 27. Tested at 8am, FC was 25. (Sun has been out earlier so it's possible I waited too late) However yesterday I was dropping at a rate of about 3-4ppm over 4 hours, so it's definitely getting better. Only problem I see is my CC is still varying from 1-1.5. 1.5 this...

    Started SLAM Last Night

All, I have had continually high CC around 1.5. With weather being rainy and temps dropping here in Ohio the next few days; I thought I'd start my SLAM process to get rid of it. I have a SWG, which is turned off, my CYA is at 60 so I've been targeting 24 ppm of FC. My water is already 100%...

    High CC & Yellowing Steps

Ok, so turned SWG off about 9:45pm, tested and FC 8, CC 2.0. This morning at 8am, FC 8, CC 1.5. I'm stumped why I continually have a high CC. What is causing it?????

    High CC & Yellowing Steps

So I did an overnight chlorine loss test. Last night I tested and FC was 9 and CC was 1.5. This morning, Chlorine 10 and CC 1.5. I turned down my salt cell about 10% this morning.

    High CC & Yellowing Steps

I will definitely try the Vitamin C to see what happens. On the Liquid Shock, are you saying use that exclusively and not the SWG? I'm confused by that part. Also, what FC level do you think I should hold at?

    High CC & Yellowing Steps

I am not on a well, using city water. I used the Non Chlorine shock which lowered my CC from 1.5 yesterday to 1.0 today. Are you recommending adding liquid shock or SLAM right now? If I add Liquid shock now it will obviously spike my FC.

    High CC & Yellowing Steps

Ok. The frog system is still installed however I'm not using a mineral pak or any tabs in it. Basically just there with water running through it due to plumbing. I'm using the Aquarite SWG now. Here are the test results I just took. FC - 6.0 CC - 1.0 PH - 7.5 TA - 80 CH - 75 CYA - 65 Salt -...

    High CC & Yellowing Steps

So I’ve been struggling with high CC in my salt water pool. My steps have been turning yellowish as well. I read that could be from metal so I thought I’d just to get water tested at Leslie’s. I have the TF-100 test kit which I use regularly. My CC has been creeping up lately but always reads at...

    Combined Chlorine and SLAM

So essentially keep adding liquid shock until it holds and doesn't drop more than 1.0ppm overnight?

    Combined Chlorine and SLAM

I did add and test multiple times on Sunday, however when I woke up Monday morning to test, FC had dropped by 7.5ppm.

    Combined Chlorine and SLAM

Hi All, I've been eating through chlorine tablets like crazy here lately. I have a frog system (I know, TFP doesn't like) and I'm using 1" stabilized tablets. My Combined Chlorine has been 1.0ppm so I figured that was the culprit. I don't have algea, water is actually really clear. I bought a...

New Heat Pump - Filter Pressure now Higher

Return flow is much lower, which means I need to run my pump at nearly 100% to get good circulation in the pool. Typically I run my pump at 70% from 8am-4pm and then 35% from 4pm to 8am. At 70%, my flow is almost like 40% and 35% hardly moves any water. So maybe I get a bypass valve and keep...

New Heat Pump - Filter Pressure now Higher

I just got a Raypak 140 btu heat pump. I got it installed by my service tech the other day. Since it's been installed, my DE filter pressure went from a usual 10-12 to 20-22. Is this normal? I wouldn't think extra plumbing to the heater would have anything to do with my pressure building in my...

    DIY Frog Chlorine Pac

I drilled a two inch hole in the top of the frog pac and put my own tablets in. Then I covered the hole with duct tape. Last night, I took another pack I made, and took the duct tape off and put back in to see if it will increase my FC more. I can't seem to get it to go above .5ppm even on max...

    DIY Frog Chlorine Pac

Has anyone made their own Frog Chorine Pacs? Any tips or suggestions? 1” tabs I bought don’t seem to be dissolving at the rate of the Frog Brand but I refuse to buy those. New pool installed almost two months ago. I know this site isn’t a fan of frogger, just want opinions on diy pacs.
