Pipes burst even with freeze Protection on

That really stinks. Was the pad tarped or blanketed? Just curious

    Digging out a buried pool

I seem to recall previous folks who dug out their pool had issues finding builders wanting to even touch a pool that was previously buried. You may want to consider looking at builders around your area who would be interested to help with the remodel before going further. Last thing you want...

    Aquapure Randomly works...

As mentioned, this is common - mine does this every so often (disappear from the app status list) however it is always working when I check the box directly. Power cycling just the aqualink breaker always solves it.

Same mine still looking great on my 4th season

    Sodium Hypochlorite instead of bleach….

Agree with all of this as well; bleach is generally confusing without the added explanation of what kind of bleach etc

(The Woodlands, TX) Area Contemporary Build - Jan 2023

Yep makes sense. I think the whole PDA/RS difference is just ridiculously confusing and wish they’d just release a single comprehensive system to simplify things.

(The Woodlands, TX) Area Contemporary Build - Jan 2023

The main difference is the PDA system will only allow on/off functionality from your mobile device. Any and all scheduling or setup will require the physical PDA to setup. RS will allow full access to the web interface from the mobile app so you can control and setup everything and don’t need...

(The Woodlands, TX) Area Contemporary Build - Jan 2023

This was my builder too - they made a lot of big mistakes but they did get things addressed to how I wanted them. That said, keep a close eye on their plumbers and electricians. They have a couple of crews, one was way better than the other while the other was just sloppy and caused our issues...

    Strange goo in filter

I’ve had the same goop in the exact same spot in my filter - not a lot but definitely some. Always assumed it was rust as it only exists on that surrounding stainless collar; no where else.

    Heater Gas Smell

Any gas regulators close to the heater? Those tend to vent at times which I’ve noticed sporadic gas smells as well.

    So it happened. Raccoon visit...

Get a trap and relocate it; it’s what I do. If you have trash cans outside, make sure to strap the lids down as well so they’re not attracted to your property.

Info and Advice on Tankless Water Heaters

Do all tankless water heaters require electricity? In the time we‘ve had extended outages, I was always thankful to have hot water. Mine are at the 7-8 yr mark so hopefully have a few years before i need to replace

    Updated Equipment Pad Critique Requested

My thought is there’s a ton of leverage following the SWG and back. I would have swept that run to ride the floor of the pad and back up to the heater. As it stands, youll want a support piece to hold that side up.

Are travertine pavers supposed to look like this?

White ones appear to be from another color set imo. Place blue tape on all the ones you want replaced by the builder; should not be an issue. I was really picky and got rid of many of the pitted ones that didn’t match the others well enough.

Pebble Sheen Blue Surf Pre Water - Does this look right?

Agree with others - this looks good and was very similar to my blue surf. Once filled you‘ll never notice

    Algae in filter equipment

I have those cyclones and what I do is remove the purge union and use a bendable skinny brush to get any physical build up. For ongoing prevention, I purge all water out of the chamber every month or so which keeps the water fresh.

    New Build in Houston Area

I’d recommend you upgrade to an RS-8 system instead of PDA. Otherwise you will have to do all programming on the PDA vs your phone. Not sure which home automation controller your’re using but that will also likely need the RS system (mine did anyways)

    New IntelliPH

Not to derail here but I thought the activity in the cell while it is generating contributed to aeration and thus ph rise? I may have misunderstood this but I do notice a direct correlation to my ph rise in the summer when the cell is outputting a higher %age vs in winter where it’s 5% or off...

Pump stops running when switching to spa mode, won't turn back on

Is this a new Jandy epump? If so contact Jandy. I had a new pump installed and had same symptoms - when in freeze protect, the pump will stop running when it cycles out of spa mode back to pool mode (it’s supposed to stop, cycle and start again in pool mode). Apparently there was a service...

    Imagine Illusion 40 Complete 10/19/21

If you have an iaqualink connected, you should also have the pda which does not require wifi (uses its own rf).

Creative way to lift stone over skimmer

How big is that hole? Mine are like that and have a 1” hole - big enough to fit two fingers in. The eye bolt is a good idea but for me would just slow the process a bit.

Aqualink RS Issue: Missing equipment on display

I’ve had this issue with my aquapure as well. It’ll stop appearing from the rs interface occasionally. It’s working and enabled outside in the separate power distribution box and a reset of the aqua link always fixes it, without having to reset the swg power itself. I believe it’s some bug...

    WATERFALL SHEER LEAK

Tough spot. Could it be cut flush on the flange and a smaller diameter pipe fit in the exiting pipe? Then couple and reconnect?

Prepping yard for excavation and build

If you have a sprinkler system, figure out your zoning and where your control wires are so you can easily repair them later; collect the sprinkler heads that will be in excavation area to reuse later. If you know where your water main comes into the house, mark it. Mine was hit and we had no...

    Ledge Lounger Chair-Floating issue

Same issue here - I think the Main issue is that their working depth is really just ~6” and not 9” as advertised. Our shelf is about 8” and we have the same issue with the rise where your knees would rest. Annoying.

    New basketball hoop!

I have the same hoop except the slighter smaller version. Am on my seconds season and still extremely pleased and worth the cost. FYI - the pole and mount are the same between versions so one can switch to the larger or smaller backboard should they need.

Jandy Nicheless LED Hydrocool Pool Lights

Those lights come with black, grey and white ring cover/fasteners. They could have easily put white or grey instead of black.

How often do most of you add Muriatic Acid?

I add about 2cups every 3 days on season 2 with my 28k gallon pool. My TA is currently around 80-90 so I may try lowering that more and see how it does.

    Is this algae?

Curious on this as well - I saw a couple of spots like this last year on an interior corner that was just above waterline. Scrubs off relatively easy and bleach eradicated it. Did not have closeups like this but from a distance, brown gelatinous blobs.
