I know someone who is selling this filter used and for very little money. I know nothing of these filters and have a few questions. 1 - would this filter be any good for a pool that is 18'x48" in size? 2 - what size pump would be recommended for this size filter? Cheers

no I did not use the test stripes I find them highly inaccurate.. the pool place tested the water this morning. I asked if they sold the Taylor test kits and they said no, only the test strips. :( Cheers

Thanks everyone for the prompt responses. My wife made some calls and walmart had one unit left. Phew!!!!! Which is funny because i called before my wife got home and they told me they were sold out... :? must be my approach :) I figured I would replace the whole unit with a new one...

I think they were lucky as well. They made it sound so easy, all they said they purchased were test strips for salt levels and thats it. I have been reading a ton of info from the "pool school" so I am pretty confident that everything will be fine. And now that the weather is cooperating...
