Can't commit to daily bleach, what's 2nd best?

If you're going to hire a company, then Hamlin is the best (although on the costly side). For chlorine, I just bite the bullet and buy a case of liquid chlorine from Leslie's on 10th - it comes in a case of 4, costs $20, and they store it in better conditions than most others (i.e. indoors). At...

Can't commit to daily bleach, what's 2nd best?

Hey, I'm in McAllen, too. Your numbers are pretty much mine, and I also used a service for a year that used pucks before doing it myself and switching to liquid chlorine (which company did you hire, BTW?). I used to test every day, but now after seeing the rate that it normally dissipates in our...

What does your pool paradise look like?

Poolside paradise question for the DIYers: So, Hurricane Hanna chewed up my fence something fierce and it needs to be replaced (thankfully, there was no other damage to the house and the pool is balanced again). The problem is that there's a cedar shortage nationwide because of the shutdowns...

    VS Pump/In-floor cleaning system

The same as most, I assume - decreased energy costs, less noise, more options, etc. This is a nice pool (and the PO kept it in good shape), but there are some design limitations in upgrading equipment and hardware, I'm seeing.

    VS Pump/In-floor cleaning system

As requested. The diverter valve on the right controls the spa jets and I believe the one on the left is the main drain. The previous owner used the chlorinator, but I have that closed and use liquid chlorine. There used to be a heater, but I don't currently have one.

    VS Pump/In-floor cleaning system

The only returns are from the filter, I believe. I'll admit that I like the IFC because it lets me know that the pool is at least on and running properly (and the extra spa spillover is nice), but I would like to upgrade to more modern equipment.

    VS Pump/In-floor cleaning system

I've been considering upgrading my SS pump to a VS. My pool has an in-floor cleaning system both for the pool and the spa (it's a six-port system). The only thing is that there's only one drain in the pool, so the debris removal from the cleaning system is fairly minimal, but I've been told the...

    Light replacement issues

I bough a house last year that has a nice 16k gallon pool. The chemistry isn't hard to maintain, so I do that myself (thanks to TFP), but I don't want to even start messing with the electrical components since I would probably kill myself and/or run the equipment. The equipment itself is...
