    Concrete cantilever coping chipping

Any thoughts on what I could do to repair this. I have a few places where the coping is starting to break off. Our pool was installed in 2020 and is fiberglass. I realize that he probably should have had the plumb strip put in. I am also worried about that corner where the control joints are...

    Burnt hose

I was just uncovering my equipment (which I take in my 2 spaflex hoses, pump and my filter-to-pump-hose-re-inforced-vinyl for the winter) and I found this (see pic) on my backwash hose(same type as my filter-to-pump) which I leave out. The filter and hose was covered with a blue tarp. This is...

    PowerFlow 1580x15FP LX Repair

My Hayward pump is leaking at the shaft stem. I am guessing it is the seals. When I replace them on Hayward's site they say : Clean and lubricate the impeller hub shaft and pump housing seal recess with a dilute solution of non-granulated liquid-type soap. The use of petroleum or silicone...

    Hard plumbing advice

Anyone -- on my last question? I had another thought that maybe I could leave everything connected if I had a drain plug on the pvc pipe on both the skimmer and return sides so instead of a 90 at the bottom I would put a T and then use a 1.5" plug with an O-ring and just remove it when...

    Step placement question

Thanks - I was concerned that it might impede the flow and cause debris not to be "skimmed"

    Step placement question

I am getting a deck built for my pool and am going to relocate the steps much closer to the skimmer. Right now they are almost on the opposite side of the pool. The new location would be 1.5 top sections to the left of the skimmer. This is a 21' Round AGP. Would that pose any issues?

    Hard plumbing advice

I was reading more on this site about valves being difficult to turn and handles breaking so I decided to get the Pentair Two Port Diverter Valve 263038 thinking that it was never lube that it would be better. However it is so heavy I am worried that if I mount it near the skimmer and return it...

    Hard plumbing advice

Thanks guys. If I do the normal sequence with the ball valve (or use the ball valve/union) -- what is the lifespan. I am just worried about how well it holds up in the winter. I see it is serviceable -- what exactly does that mean? Does that mean if it leaks I don't have to cut it out and...

    Hard plumbing advice

Thanks Jason. 1. I was wondering more on the union location -- is it ok to put it above the ball valve and if so does it matter which way it is oriented. What I am envisioning is unscrewing from underneath and then the o-ring part along with the the ball valve and the rest of the pipe could...

    Hard plumbing advice

First of all what a great resource this is. Thanks so much. I would like to hard plumb my pool at the end of the season and need some advice as to what I need and the layout. 1. I am in PA and saw someone post that they put a union before the shutoff. Should I do that or not? 2. I also...

Recommendation and installation of Automatic Chlorinator

One final question on the Aqua-Trol -- does the pool have a 'salt-water' taste to it? Thanks again for all your great advice Mark
  28. M

Recommendation and installation of Automatic Chlorinator

Yes I do have a light in the return. These Aqua-Trols -- are lot more expensive than the inline chlorinators. Though it appears to make that up in not needing chlorine and power savings. Right? Also -what is the liquid chlorine injection pump -- I am assuming that is your Stenner 45MHP2(3GPD)...

Recommendation and installation of Automatic Chlorinator

Thanks for the quick reply. Its a 21' AGP -- I forget who the manufacturer was -- I am thinking it was Atlantic. Below is the only pic I have handy. Just out of curiosity what problems do they cause.[attachment=0:cjva1luo]photo.JPG[/attachment:cjva1luo]

Recommendation and installation of Automatic Chlorinator

We just got our AG pool installed last year and before starting things up again I would like to add an automatic chlorinator. Right now its all plumbed with hoses. So I am wondering should I stick with that configuration or at the minimum hard plumb the return side where the chlorinator will...
