Interesting. I am also looking at similar tile from Artistry in Mosaics and was thinking the yellow/brown in this tile from the sample looks so different from your actual (real) picture. It looks good on your pool. I will have to look at this sample again.
Hi, our new pool build will have a Hayward TriStar VS pump with OmniLogic automation\control. Does this pump or the Omni have a flow meter to see gpm or gph at the different pump RPMs?
Also remember if your deep end is in the middle, both ends will have a steeper slope to the middle and might be less comfortable to stand on. If your deep end is on one end, the slope will be more gradual and give you more usable space for the kids.
Anyone in Houston or South Texas using the Pentair Heat/Cool pump that could give their opinions of how its working for them would be greatly appreciated..!
Im looking for an option to both heat and cool a 25k gal pool in Houston, TX.
Wondering if it would be a good idea to get the Pentair 125k BTU Heat Pump (71k BTU Cool) or if I should get the Pentair Master Temp 400k BTU and a Glacier GPC210 Chiller. Both options (equipment only) is within...
Not sure if I should start a new thread since so much info already here.
How does the Houston, TX climate affect if a heat pump/chiller is preferable to a gas heater? This will be for a new pool build which will have a spa. Is the heat pump only able to heat the pool water but not the spa...
Note this is from the Glacier chiller manual:
"Understand that salt is a corrosive mineral. Salt likes to remove ions and can take zinc away from
galvanized steel and this type of chlorine is five times harder on pool equipment than regular chlorine.
As such, use of a salt system may lead to...
Wondering if SWCG is still recommended for a new pool build we are planning. I had a pool built about four years ago at a previous house and we used a SWCG back then. Are they still recommended? Is it possible to have lower maintenance with just a standard rainbow style "puck" auto chlorinator...
I do this a few times a year if I need to do a thorough cleaning of the pool floor. My main drain also has a "skimmer" type basket. I only do it when I dont have swimmers in the pool to be safe. Just check your pressure readings at your filter if you feel the need.
I have the easytouch wireless remote. We have had similar problems with losing communication.
The PB replaced the antenna module in the easy touch control panel, replaced our remote twice, etc. It has stopped working on us 3 times. Our PB warned us ahead of time that the wireless...
Ill add my 2 cents. I currently own the 4x160 Inteliflo. If I were to do it again I would get the VF pump instead.
Basically to get the most efficient setting (and run your pump as low as possible to save electricity) you start with your daily desired water turnover rate. If you determine...
I have been using a water hose to clean my filter cartridges twice a year. Is it better to soak them in some sort of solution in a trash can or other method?
Using the ozone system as a supplemental oxidizer is supposed to allow me to lower my FC levels as my FC is mainly used as just a sanitizer. I know there is much debate about that and am certainly not an expert on the chemistry behind it. On my system the ozone is injected into the flow just...
PH at 7.4
TA at 90
CH at 450
CYA at 40
FC at 1
this morning....process complete. Thanks for the info on how to properly lower TA. The pool water looks great.
Also Im glad my PB installed the 2 sprinklers in the pool so I can aerate easily.
I recently had the same process completed that laff66 mentioned in the last post. It has made a huge difference in the appearance of the finish. Much more consistent in appearance and a bit darker. The aggregate stones are much more visible. I would recommend it if your builder is up to it...
I ran out of my CYA test kit and need to get another one. Since it has turned colder here this week I considered just using pucks since I know my CYA and salt is way low due to the water change. I didnt realize the CYA reading had a big impact on TA. My swcg manual recommends a 75ppm CYA...
completed the (re)fill late last night and aerated all night.
Tested the water this morning..
CH was only down to 500 which was a little dissapointing. My pb has 500 listed as the max so I may leave the CH alone for now.
PH was at 7.6 so I added enough acid to bring it down to 7.0. I will...
This past Friday (2 days ago) I had my aggregate stone finish IG pool acid washed to smooth out the color consistency of the interor pool finish. I was out of town when the work was completed but I know they lowered the PH down considerably during the process.
Since yesterday afternoon I have...
Yes, ideally each skimmer and your main drain will be plumbed directly with home runs back to the equip pad. That way you can adjust circulation between main drain and skimmers.
I use valves at the equipment pad to run one of my skimmers at the larger end of my pool at about 60% with the...
I have a similar aggregate finish and I have one section about 6 inches by 6 feet that I guess would be called a dark streak. It starts at one edge and heads towards the drain. My guess is they let the acid sit too long in one section and it was draining to the main drain. The only option I...
