    Green pool won’t go away!!

Just tested after this mornings addition, FC is 26. With 3 x a day addition and testing is there an expected time I should be seeing results? I know the SLAM process says I should see improvement daily, I’m trying to get an idea as I’m clearly not doing something right. Thank you again for...

    Green pool won’t go away!!

Sorry, I thought it logged the result of the test when I logged the addition. All of the additions are a result of an FC test. Test this morning was 14.5 FC. I added 136oz 10% bleach. Tests have been holding steady around 10.5 FC. I’ll attempt a better job of logging in Pool Math

    Green pool won’t go away!!

Only issue I had when filling it last summer with well water was iron in the water which was solved with a 5 gallon bucket of pillow stuffing.

    Green pool won’t go away!!

    Green pool won’t go away!!

First picture is today second is from 2 weeks ago when I started. It’s still green! I’ve vacuumed to the best of my ability 3 times a week and swept the remaining days. I believe I’m at the point of draining and starting over. I added 136oz of 10% this morning to bring FC up to 24 per the chart...

    Green pool won’t go away!!

I’ve been SLAMming for 2 weeks now, when I started my CYA was 40. I checked it this morning and it has risen to 60. I’ve been using either 6% or 10% liquid bleach/chlorinator, I haven’t added anything else to the pool since I started SLAMming.

    Green pool won’t go away!!

Question on CYA level and slamming...as the CYA level goes up does my FC need to go up as well?

    Green pool won’t go away!!

Thank you all for your replies. I’m an impatient person and probably did not SLAM long enough. Started SLAMming again Wednesday evening. I’ve been keeping my chlorine at a consistent as possible 16ppm; I work 2nd shift so I brush or vacuum in the mornings and check/chlorine morning, before work...

    Green pool won’t go away!!

My green has been an ongoing problem since the beginning of June! I have shocked and chlorinated, swept and brushed til my arms fell off. Changed and cleaned filters twice a day every day. I’ve SLAMmed twice and currently doing a 3, 2, 1 shock recommended by the pool store. And of course they...

    Pump slows down

I did not have enough water; didn't consider this pump pulling more water than the original. Filled with more water and the pump is running as it should! Thank you!

    Pump slows down

I recently completed the conversion from my previous pump to the Intex 28633EG Krystal Clear Cartridge Filter; the pump seems to be losing force as it continues to run. It primes several times sucking all of the water out of the skimmer and then just slowly pumps less and less as time goes on. I...

    New pump lacks consistent suction

The original pump to my Pro Series pool went out just before closing the pool so I've been scrambling to get the new pump to work properly so I can get the pool closed before it gets much closer. I purchased an Intex 2500 GPH Krystal Clear pump, it is hooked up through the original SFS2000...

    Green water that's not algea

This might be a silly question, but what do you mean by "use a sequestrant or filter it out"? I'm assuming there are two different methods? Is one method better than the other? I've read a little about the sequestrants but I've read so much it all runs together. I have no doubt there is iron...

    Green water that's not algea

Test kit added to signature (TF-100 w/ K-1000). FC is 8.5 and CC is 0. I haven't added any chemicals since I think August 7th. I do have 2 Pool life Brite Styx in the skimmer that are 3/4 of the way dissolved.

    Green water that's not algea

Currently I'm using the hth multi purpose 6-way test strips. I know it isn't ideal but I'm interested in suggestions for better tests to purchase. I also forgot to mention that I have also tried an algae treatment as directed on the bottle and it didn't take away the green.

    Green water that's not algea

I am testing my own water before and after the pool store test. I'm over the pool store and plan on following advice and methods given here.

    Green water that's not algea

I had 11,000 gallons of water brought in from a local volunteer fire department; it has been green since it left their tank and entered my pool. It is clear and the bottom can be seen. I had my water tested by the local pool store which recommended 3.5 lbs of Calcium Plus, 1/2 gal of Muriatic...
