Black/grey dust on bottom of the pool

...shoot, I guess I had it backwards. I guess my alkalinity will be too high then after this :(. This is the first time my ph has ever been out of range, if you can’t tell :). My main concern is still the black/grey areas in the photos, and whether or not is black algae.

Black/grey dust on bottom of the pool

Thanks for your response. I normally use the k2006, but i got these from the pool store since I was already there to pick up chemicals. My k2006 results I pulled the day before were in the same ballpark. I added TA just before the acid to offset the expected increase from the acid.

    Question about raising Chlorine

Thank you for the response! One more clarifying question: If I'm adding chlorine to shock level (20 ppm in my case), and I need to maintain this level until overnight loss is no more than 1ppm, then how do I get the level back down to target range once SLAM is complete? If at that point there's...

    Question about raising Chlorine

New pool owner here, and this site has been a huge help getting me accustomed to pool maintenance. Thank you! Since inheriting the pool six months ago, my FC and TC have been reading 0. All other levels have maintained the desired range (see below for most recent results) with the exception of...
