I had a sand filter, seemed to be always back washing it. Changed to a big Pentair cartridge....only had to clean it once last year, when I closed the pool for the winter. Can't beat that!

You do not need to be around when the lines are marked to know which lines apply to which company. The colors used are standardized. Red is electric, blue is water, yellow is natural gas, orange is telephone/cable.

Normally you do not have to remove the bolts completely, just loosen them so the wedges slip down. You might want to try rethreading the bolts back into the wedges a bit and then tap them with a hammer. Not too hard though...you just want to get thewdeges to slide down. Also recognize these...

I had a Meyco solid cover, which bit the dust during the blizzard last winter. It was installed at the end of the 05 season...I had expected it to last longer than 5 seasons. I'll be interested to see responses to your post.

Hopefully Pentair gets around to releasing it in the foreseeable future. I really like the idea of Ipad / laptop control of the automation system, but couldn't justify the added $$$$ for Intellitouch. I don't have a very big system...EasyTouch is almost overkill....

When the pump goes to lower speed, the water flow reduces. Could your chlorinator be shutting down due to lower flow?

No that is a new function of the new Intellitouch load center...which is also not yet in the distribution chain! For some time now, the Easy Touch load center has included the transformer / power for the SWCG.

I have called a couple of on-line distributors looking for the new Easy Touch load center. They are telling me that Pentair puts out the brochures long before they have product ready! If the new load center is just a larger (150 amp) base and extra circuit breaker slots, I guess I am safe...

And it is because of that delay that I did not pull the trigger on the Intellitouch and after reading some recent comments on this forum, I am now pretty sure I'll go with Easytouch instead. Saving a few hundred $$$ too!

And I don't have a very sophisticated system...just a pool with heater, so I am sure I'll never outgrow an Easy Touch . I did like the idea of using my laptop or iPad to control things though.

I am replacing my sand filter with a cartridge filter. One of the advantages of the sand filter was the "waste" position on the multi port valve...I was able to lower the pool level while bypassing the filter. Now that I am installing the cartridge filter, I am thinking of installing a Jandy...
