I just bought a house last year that has a 20k gallon Fiberglas inground pool. The plumbing is flexible pvc not hard pvc. They had a leak at the skimmer and replaced the skimmer to pump section with hard pvc before I bought it. Now I was swimming yesterday and noticed a few spots on the bottom...

I wish my water was that cheap here. I got a quote from a water place here that I see their trucks all around they quoted me $0.05 a gallon... so $500 for my 10,000 gallons. But I’ll have to get other quotes! Thanks!

Algae after SLAM... what to do next

I have well water and don’t want to risk killing my well putting 10-15,000 gallons of water into my pool... if I knew for sure I had a good well I’d do it but the house is from the 50’s. I’ll talk to local pool places and see what they recommend. The fiberglass has some little cracks I’d like to...

Algae after SLAM... what to do next

Ok thanks for the info! If I drain my pool is it ok to have the fire department fill the pool with water from their tanker truck? Or is it better to spend the money to get a company fill it? I got a quote from a company local here that fills pools they want $0.05 a gallon for their clean water...

Algae after SLAM... what to do next

The pool calculator said my shock level was 34 so I maintained a 35 for 2 days before I stopped adding chlorine and let it drop off. So even at a chlorine level of 35 that isn’t high enough to SLAM at my cya level? It’s not worth trying to get rid of it as is just to drain and refill? Thanks a lot!

    Total alkalinity vs adjusted alkalinity

So I shouldn’t take my tft kit alkalinity number and subtract 1/3 if my cya from it? And those are my tft numbers. My tft kit shows 7.5 ph but I got the digital ph meter which shows it’s at 7.6 ph. And for my cya I do half distilled water half pool water then double the cya number which is why I...
