The gauge let water in and it no longer works. The filter is working fine, just had to clean it three times. Since the replacement gauge is also by Hayward, I feel I'd be throwing money away. Thanks for the vacuum tip.

No working gauge. Apparently Hayward filters are notorious for Water infiltration. The installer told me that it would go out in a year and it did. He also said the replacement would go out too so not to bother with it. I did clean the filter two more times and my pump pressure is good.
