HELP!!! Stonescapes Rep recommends Zero Alk Acid wash to remove Abalone stains!!

JoyfulNoise has posted that it disrupts CC (not FC). If my end result is to get rid of these brown stains, then should I just go straight to the Zero Alk treatment? I had to fight to get them to cover that, and they are now willing to do it. They of course are pushing me to try the Jack's...

HELP!!! Stonescapes Rep recommends Zero Alk Acid wash to remove Abalone stains!!

Ok, so to go back to my original question. Are you saying I should just have them do the Zero Alk Acid Wash to start and not even bother with the Copper and Scale treatment?

So what are those ways? I'm talking systemic ways. Also, how disruptive? It looks like it uses Sulfamic Acid, which hydrolyses into Ammonium bisulfate.

HELP!!! Stonescapes Rep recommends Zero Alk Acid wash to remove Abalone stains!!

Ok thanks. So are you saying the Copper & Scale treatment is still better to try over the acid wash? That's the initial question I am trying to determine. Also, why would a copper and scale treatment add more copper? Such a treatment would be for removing copper, not adding it. It's not...

HELP!!! Stonescapes Rep recommends Zero Alk Acid wash to remove Abalone stains!!

So, I'm reviving this thread because I FINALLY got the Stonescapes Rep to come out. ( I think my installer was BS'ing me about "waiting" on the rep, I called NPT and had the rep out in a week!). Anyways, the rep noticed a lot of calcium scale (which I admit I thought was just the dark plaster...

Best online place for pool and testing supplies.

I'm not sure why only having a SWG would keep you from having to maintain your alkalinity level. Baking soda isn't just for adjusting pH, its for maintaining total alkalinity. They are two different things.

What tablets are you referring to? Tri-chlor? Yeah they are acidic and lower pH a bit, but why are you using them if you have a SWG?

Why wouldn't I need baking soda anymore? You still need to maintain a correct alkalinity level even with a SWG.

Cool thanks everyone. Thanks for the calcium link. I searched there and never saw that option. Good price, same as what I got from HD. I DID find that my local warehouse store has the best price for salt and baking soda.

Best online place for pool and testing supplies.

Well, poolweb.com didn't work out. I already received an email saying my two items won't ship until the middle of September. Of course they already charged my card. So now, back to trying to find a reputable online pool supply store. I was going to try tftestkits but I don't need enough...

It's South Florida. We get almost daily deluges of rain, so in the summer things can get diluted pretty quickly.

Yeah, I came across tftestkits.net myself. But they only sell that, not anything else. I was hoping to find an online place that sold everything that people recommend. And I am aware of HD and Lowes, etc. They are cheap for acid, but not calcium. $12 for 4 lbs is all they carry, and that'll...

    Alexa Skill is BACK!!!

Quick update....mine is now giving me an error saying it can't connect to requested pool. I even tried disabling/reenabling the skill process which has you re-register your Screenlogic with them and still no luck.

Best online place for pool and testing supplies.

I have been searching through the forums and online and am trying to find a good place to buy pool chemicals and testing supplies online. Right now I specifically need R-0871 FAS_DPD Titrating Agent for Taylor Chlorine test, as well as come Calcium Chloride to raise my calcium levels a bit. I...

HELP!!! Stonescapes Rep recommends Zero Alk Acid wash to remove Abalone stains!!

So, is this protein staining always a potential ongoing issue? I mean if there’s always a risk of it staining, then why would the manufacturer even include it as an ingredient in any of their products? Do you ever reach a point where it’s no longer an issue or worry if it happening?

    Alexa Skill is BACK!!!

I tried to reply to the existing threat Alexa Skill is gone but that one is closed for some reason. Anyways..... It is now published again on Amazon.com as an available skill! Be sure to read the command examples on the skill page, as the syntax has changed a bit. You have to say "Pentair...

HELP!!! Stonescapes Rep recommends Zero Alk Acid wash to remove Abalone stains!!

What's funny is that most of the spots aren't near any particular abalone. Can the proteins dissolve in water and stain somewhere else where there isn't abalone?

HELP!!! Stonescapes Rep recommends Zero Alk Acid wash to remove Abalone stains!!

So my builder is having the rep come out at some point to confirm it's abalone shells. I'm not sure what is next once he does. I'm guessing I'll have to either pressure Stonescapes to fix it under warranty or my builder to have my installer perform the fix. This is very frustrating as I am...

HELP!!! Stonescapes Rep recommends Zero Alk Acid wash to remove Abalone stains!!

I just spoke with my builder and basically put the onus back on him. I said the installer and manufacturer are both trying to put this on my shoulders and this IS BS. I said I am still within my builder's warranty, you KNOW (and he does, I'm freaking ANAL about my levels) that my levels are...

HELP!!! Stonescapes Rep recommends Zero Alk Acid wash to remove Abalone stains!!

I found post about The Zero Alk Bath in the "Deep End" forum. Which appears to just be a copy/paste from another guy's website. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is this a legitimate request or are they just trying to get out of fixing their problem! I had abalone added to my...

Chlorinator setting for Spa vs Pool

Ok thanks. I was just asking in case there was a general rule to follow.

Chlorinator setting for Spa vs Pool

I normally keep my pool output around 15-20%. That seems to provide plenty of chlorine. But I don’t want to have my chlorine drop every time I use the spa just because I’m not using a correct setting. I know you can’t tell me exactly, but I was wondering if there was any sort of rule of thumb...

Chlorinator setting for Spa vs Pool

So, I’ve been wondering since I powered up my pool, what setting is recommended/should I use for my chlorinator when running in spa mode vs. in standard pool mode. I have an infinity spa that regularly overflows into my pool. I also have the ability with my EasyTouch 4 and ScreenLogic2 to set...
