My in laws pool is pretty green and has a lot of debris at bottom. Should I drain it or can I get it blue without draining. We live in DFW area Allen TX. So not sure if I have to worry about it popping out. It's a concrete/plaster pool.

Need to fix my in laws century pump. It runs at first but then starts leaking. Guessing it's the shaft. I can't find any of the parts for it all I see is pentair and Hayward. If anyone could point me in right direction it would be appreciated. Would like to just get a kit with all the gaskets...

Smoke came out of the cell.

My Pentair Intellichlor IC40 is pretty old. It's bulging and has some minor cracks and seems completely dead (no lights) I changed the fuse 10 amp, power came back for two seconds and smoke came out of unit. I'm guessing it is completely dead? If so should I be good to just swap it with a new...

I put the old flow switch back and after a few days magically working. For the most part consistently green especially if it's really hot outside like 100 degrees. Sometimes in the morning it is red though. I will take a look at potential for corrosion if it starts failing again.

Hi @Newdude I was going to try the wire nuts. But I put back in the old flow switch a few days ago and after being red for a few days its magically green again (I doubt it will last). Very strange what's going on here.

Nice thanks Jim! I think its definitely dead. I think I will wait till next year to replace it. Hopefully prices will come down.

Thanks Ingenious! I tried the one from Pool Guy Supply and it didn't work. I could try the more expensive pentair OEM one? I think my original flow switch definitely had an issue because temp reading was 100 degrees. My cell only shows 40% of life is used, but I understand that isn't very accurate.

New flow switch has 4 wires. Red, Blue, Green, White. It is the after market Optimum Pool Technologies Switch.

Unfortunately it is no longer working. Red flow light again. It will occasionally turn green, generally is red though. I'm guessing the cell is done?

Hi Jim, I connected all wires again. It took atleast 30 minutes to go through start up check. However it's working now! All lights are currently green. Not sure if its related but I put some clorox Scale, Metal, Stain Control treatment in last night. Any other ideas on why it's working now...

Currently with the red and black wires detached the flow light is red and the salt level lights are flashing green (good) to red (low). Basically seems likes its getting stuck in the startup sequence trying to measure the salt levels. It was doing that a lot with the old switch and the new one...
