am I correct in thinking that there should be pieces to connect the skinny pieces with the wider metal pieces?

I have all the long and wide metal pieces and the skinny curved metal pieces, but that is all for metal pieces. Shouldn't I have connector pieces?

so is the pool essentially worthless since I don't have those pieces? or is there any way to figure out what pieces I need and where to get them?

I have no idea what brand of pool this is and I think it may be missing pieces. I assume that these things aren't universal and I probably need the right brand of whatever pieces I need, right?
