    Sand filter do not filter out small items like a cartage filter does. In order from largest partical to smallest it goes sand, cartage, and then DE. Why are you wanting to try out a sand filter?

    I went travertine pavers. In Texas concrete turns into a frying pan real quick. I paid around $17 per sf installed if I remeber correctly. It may have been a little less.

    If you can't put a skimmer on the other end then push the pool in a foot so you can. Keep in mind that you will be spinding more time out of the pool than in it.
