SWG problems again - High salt reading, Nl salt level, no chlorine

Sorry to have not replied. Cold weather, then wet weather, a bad multimeter, in combination with general personal sloth have prevented me from replying until it got warm and dry. Long story short and embarrassing. The multi-conductor 16 ft cable running from the swg cell to the jandy box was...

    Jandy PLC1400 Replacement Cost

I don't think direction of flow matters, but the swg should be the last link in the output chain so that high chlorine levels don't corrode important stuff.

    Jandy PLC1400 Replacement Cost

Quick update. After replacing the diffuser, the impeller, the backplate, and a valve actuator, the pump now works. I was hoping pump dysfunction and low flow might be the issue; but uit wasn't. It was a partially cut connection in the tri-sensor wiring to the Jandy power box. I probably stomped...

    Jandy PLC1400 Replacement Cost

My swg quit working in late fall with wonky readings that suggest it's the Jandy tri-sensor. I was in the middle of working through that issue when my pump went bad, and I am delayed with everything getting the pump parts (impeller, diffuser). Up until then everything was hunky-dory. The joys...

SWG problems again - High salt reading, Nl salt level, no chlorine

My older Jandy Aquapure SWG setup is now connected to a 3rd party SWG cell and has worked flawlessly since I replaced the Jandy trisensor in May of 2024. Recently, however, It has stopped generating chlorine both standard and boost modes and shows error codes 172 ( Flow sensor service condition...

Spa standpipe loose. What happens if I try to drain the spa?

Thanks for your help. I was concerned there would be a siphon effect pulling water back into the spa. It looks like water can then be sucked up by the spa drains and then be diverted away from the spillover pipe to the pool itself?

Spa standpipe loose. What happens if I try to drain the spa?

The spillover DOES run into pool in POOL mode.

Here is pool mode. The stand pipe is broken and in bottom of spa.

Spa standpipe loose. What happens if I try to drain the spa?

Thanks for your reply. Here is a picture of the system. The stand pipe threads are stripped I think, and I'll have to repair the connection somehow.

Spa standpipe loose. What happens if I try to drain the spa?

What will happen if I turn off the pool equipment and throw a submersible pump into my spa to empty into my contiguous pool? Will pool water drain back into the spa on its own? I need to repair the standpipe. Thanks. David - Dallas

Vertical Pipe in the middle of my spillover spa

When in spa mode, the spa water level drops to the top of the pipe so heated water doesn’t spill over to the pool.

    Jandy PLC1400 Replacement Cost

I actually got a quick email reply from Compupool which was insightful and satisfactory though slower than a phone consult would have been.

    Help troubleshooting my Aquapure 1400?

GLORY! First of all, Thx to all for the help rendered in solving my SWG problem. I also recognize that it is my own ignorance that slowed correction of the problem which was suggested by some and I'm sure recognized by more. I will try to summarize symptoms and the final dx for future readers...

    Jandy PLC1400 Replacement Cost

"But as long..." True enough. I used the chat on compupool this morning and left a message. The email function would not accept my phone number. Australia has 8 or 9 time zo0nes running 12 to 15 ½ hours ahead of Dallas (CDT) so I will call them tonight. I got a different Australia number from...

    Help troubleshooting my Aquapure 1400?

“The AquaLink temp comes from a different sensor.” - That’s too bad. The temp sensor is an inseparable part of my (edit)Compupool swg. I’m tempted to cut the thing open. I may plug my old nonworking jandy swg in to see if it generates the same temperature error.

    Help troubleshooting my Aquapure 1400?

Thx so much for your help. I was clearly confusing this lcd panel (present also on my unit) which is part of the Aquapure module with the lcd module some folks have to the left of the push button panel on their more recent units. With your help I can see that the Many, many thanks for all your...

    Jandy PLC1400 Replacement Cost

Thanks for the reply. That phone number no longer works for Compupool, and I saw in a post on Inyo pools from a couple of years ago that INYO could no longer sell the Jandy replacement cell because Compupool quit selling to the US. I guess the Salt Pool Store is selling gray market. I can't get...

    Help troubleshooting my Aquapure 1400?

Thx.. doesn't the LCD panel live in that space next to the push button controls? I would expose the rest of the electronics but it's raining right now.

    Help troubleshooting my Aquapure 1400?

I will check voltages when it quits raining. I feel confident bubble accumulation tells me when chlorine production is occurring. There has to be a branch in the flow chart somewhere differentiating boost from standard auto. If this is occurring at an override of the sensors, then maybe it is...
