Getting Pentair Heat Pump to start Pool Pump

Our night time temps are typically low to mid 60s in the summer. I have the pool set to 80 but it doesn't seem to want to get there. It's been heating to 78 but it has been a mild few days for us whether wise. - - - Updated - - - Tomorrow night we are actually dipping down to 48 :(

Getting Pentair Heat Pump to start Pool Pump

So essentially I just have better control of it at night with the solar setting? Thanks.

Getting Pentair Heat Pump to start Pool Pump

So do you suggest running the Heat Pump via the Solar Menu settings or the Heat Pump Com settings. I can enable it in either one.

Getting Pentair Heat Pump to start Pool Pump

Thanks. As of right now I just have the solar sensor sitting inside the box behind the easytouch panel. That's what pentair told me to do with it because they said it was for the resistance only.

Getting Pentair Heat Pump to start Pool Pump

In the Screenlogic configuration app I have under other equipment: Solar Present: Yes Solar is heat pump: Yes Ultratemp or ThermaFlo: Yes Has cooling: No Pump on during heater cool-down: No This is the only configuration that I've seen the heat kick on with. It still runs at night with these...

Getting Pentair Heat Pump to start Pool Pump

It's already showing up as "solar" in the eztouch display. Should it be showing up as something else?

Getting Pentair Heat Pump to start Pool Pump

And that is exactly the question. There is a way to have the heater turn on the pump to get a temperature at set times. I think I am just going to run it 24 hours a day though. Thanks. - - - Updated - - - Thanks JamesW. I appreciate the thorough response. I just assumed it would be more...

Intellibrite colors - not impressed :(

My daughters were excited for the magenta tone but it just looks blue. Is that common? I have two lights and neither is different from the other so I don't think it's going to be a defect.

Getting Pentair Heat Pump to start Pool Pump

It is my understanding that the pump must be running for the easy touch to know the temperature. So if the pump is off from 8PM-8AM there will never be a call for heat. Is that correct? - - - Updated - - - I'd like the heatpump to intermittently call for a temperature check (have the...

Getting Pentair Heat Pump to start Pool Pump

Maybe I'll need to run 24/7 at low speeds and then have it ramp up when heat is called for?

Getting Pentair Heat Pump to start Pool Pump

That was helpful for another question I had but I actually want the heater to be able to call for a temperature and if necessary turn the pump on from off. Maybe I'm just slow, lol.

Filter Pressure higher after heat pump install

Great, thank you. Should I still backwash at the 20psi I am used to or extend that range a little because of the "clean" pressure?

Filter Pressure higher after heat pump install

Good morning....I recently installed an UltraTemp 140. I have a Pentair Sand Dollar Filter. I noticed after install that my pressure was close to 20 and just chalked it up to needing a backwash. Typically after a backwash I am in the 11 range. I just backwashed and am still hovering around...

Getting Pentair Heat Pump to start Pool Pump

I just hooked up the ultratemp 140 and have an easy touch panel. After I realized I needed a solar sensor they have been working well together. I have an Intelliflo VSF that I run from 8AM-8PM. The heater only works during those times. I am trying to figure out how to have the heat pump...

    New Pool - Upstate NY

I saw other pools he had done. It's kind of his trademark. I was unsure about it at first but my kids loved it. It has grown on me now and I'm glad I agreed to it. It seems to get more comments than anything. And yes, by hand is crazy!

    New Pool - Upstate NY

Oh, he just had a broom that he cut the middle bristles out of. He then squiggled it by hand as he pulled it back. Pretty impressive that he can do it so well.

    New Pool - Upstate NY

Hopefully you like it, lol. It is just cantilevered concrete. They have forms that go into where the liner goes in. They pour the concrete, remove the forms, and then install the liner in that track. - - - Updated - - - Thank you. I will keep that in mind. - - - Updated - - - Thank...

Here is the SR Smith turbo twister. I had it plumbed when the pool was built and it cost me ~2400 for the slide. I installed it myself which was very easy to do.

Best place to buy SR Smith slide?

I did very well using the forum's advice on where to buy a Dolphin cleaner from. I am looking for a SR Smith turbo twister in sandstone with a right hand turn. Any suggestions for the best price? Thanks in advance!
