    Pool SLAM question

Just got home and tested again. After a day in the sun, FC is down to 11, CC at 0. Looks like I'm done [emoji16]

    Pool SLAM question

Did my OCLT. Each of my previous tests were ~34-36 drops, so 17-18 ppm. This morning, I was at 38 drops, tested twice. Safe to say I passed, and the increase is due to variance? I left the vacuum connected all night too, to help the water along the bottom get circulated.

    Pool SLAM question

Water is definitely clear. So if I'm understanding correctly, a higher CC number would mean the FC is still doing its job cleaning up the water? I guess my low CC number is ok. On to the OCLT :) Also, any idea how long it'll take for my FC of 18 to drop down to normal levels?

    Pool SLAM question

I recently completed work on replumbing my 20x40 above ground Doughboy. The work is complete, the pump, filter, and SWG are all connected. The SWG isn't running yet, not until I get the chemistry right. The water was FILTHY. Green water, nasty floating stuff, more nasty stuff sitting on the...

new plumbing for existing AG 20x40

How do these look as far as the ball valves go? I’m having trouble finding anything in stock locally. https://www.amazon.com/American-Valve-P200SUE-Single-Schedule/dp/B0052EBQI4 These for unions? These are local but not sure if this is what I should use...

new plumbing for existing AG 20x40

Thanks, so should I go with before and after pump, filter, and swg? Is it typical to also add them at the skimmer and return locations?

new plumbing for existing AG 20x40

Thanks guys. I have shut offs for each skimmer and return. As far as unions, where would you guys recommend they be placed? How many should I put in? Thanks again!

new plumbing for existing AG 20x40

I'm redoing my plumbing over these next two weekends. The old setup from the previous homeowner was a pair of pumps and filters at each end of the pool, attached to the pool with 1.5" hoses. I'm replacing that with the equipment in my sig and want to go to 2" pvc. Is that a good idea? A few pics...

New home/pool owner, have questions about equipment replacement

Definitely having it done properly. The current setup has zero valves lol. Definitely looking forward to making pool life easier, when we moved in and I started learning about pools, I was definitely way off the deep end [emoji16] Yes the pool has two skimmers and two return jets. You think a...

New home/pool owner, have questions about equipment replacement

Thanks for the reply! Great info. I'm just debating which pump to get. Currently have the two 20 year old 1hp pumps. Wondering if I can knock it down to one 1.5hp 2 speed/variable speed pump, with a big filter, or if I'm better off using two 1hp pumps again. I may just have a local pool guy come...

New home/pool owner, have questions about equipment replacement

Hello everyone. We're new home/pool owners in the Chicago area. The pool and liner appear to be in good condition, water had been drained to just below the skimmers, and the pool was covered by the previous owner. The pumps, filters, and some plumbing are not in good shape. Water was left in...
