The area behind the boards will be filled in with soil. The boards will be removed after the shotcrete is applied. Here's a few pictures from today's progress. The tanning shelf is 6'x12' and will have three bubblers. The two main drains were put in today. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Jamie, the boards (sheets of blandex) will have the rebar placed on the front of it. This will give the shotcrete a backing. The native soil had started to cave in and they had to dig the deep end walls back deeper. The boards will keep the wall depth at about 10" thick. Kim, the benches will...

    Fiberglass Pool Build Southeast PA

Congrats on your upcoming build! You will love the salt system and you're spot on by going with the T-15 cell. I Amin the process of replacing our old (31 years old) fiberglass pool with a gunite pool. We loved the fiberglass, but it feel open leaks and severely bowing walls. I feel this was...

The dark soil appears to be a clay type sail. So no rocks at all. The dig is easy for him since he is essentially enlarging the previous hole. The size will be 18'x36' with a 7'x12' tanning shelf on the house side of the pool. No unexpected findings at all, so far! My PB is the one operating...

The lighter colored is sand from the backfill of the old fiberglass pool. The new pool will be larger and the deep end deeper. I'll post pictures of the work today. I'm pleased with the PB and his crew. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Kimkats, they used a small track hoe, skid steer (Bobcat front end loader), and a few guys with sledge hammers. Loaded all in a dump truck. 7 or 8 dump truck loads of concrete hauled off. Appeared to average around 4"-6" thick. Also a 30" tall 50' long brick wall was removed. Glad to see my...

Thanks JamieP. It's all cedar including the tongue and groove ceiling. It has a coat of oil based sealer on it. Basically a clear satin. I like the natural cedar color and didn't want to go darker with it. The light was installed today and I couldn't be more pleased. My wife chose it and I think...

We are starting on a near total backyard makeover. To give a little history, the original fiberglass pool and decking was installed in 1984. We have decided to remove it and have a shotcrete pool installed. Prior to the pool demo we had a cedar post and beam patio covering built. I will...
