    Chlorine Levels Drop Fast

Curious if this is normal, or if there's something out of whack with my chemicals. But, I keep my PH around 7.6, my TA around 70, and my CYA has finally come down to 45 (tons of rain over this past winter helped force some water changes). My chlorine level drops from about 7 to 2 within a three...

    Booster Pump Reducing Valve?

Good to know. But mine is running smooth and quiet.......thank goodness. And I’ll add another repair to the project as my fittings are now slightly leaking around the outflow fitting on the volute. I loaded them with tape and silicone. These are just threaded PVC fittings that I glue 3/4”...

    Booster Pump Reducing Valve?

Great idea. Had completely forgotten about those disks. And yes, voltage is good at the timer and the motor.

    Booster Pump Reducing Valve?

Thanks for the reply. I've tried the different impeller route, and INYO Pools is exactly who i called. They could not find a different impeller. There is an impeller for an older pump, but back from 96....mine isn't that old. I'm also in discussions with Pentair hoping they can tell me more...

    Booster Pump Reducing Valve?

Here’s a bump...... surely someone has some experience with this. Or have I posted in the wrong area?

    Booster Pump Reducing Valve?

So, I have an LA01N booster pump that is powered by a Century B668 motor. Both are not older than 3-4 years old (inherited this pool this past summer). I knew the pump was needing to be rebuilt so I bought the replacement parts for a DIY rebuild. Then right before I started this project, the...

PH continuing to rise - newbie

Yes. I've been calculating the CSI with each test. I've always been in the good range.....never high or low. That happy place is what I'm struggling with. I've heard that getting the TA down to as low as 50 is okay...........is that an accurate statement? I'm worried about going lower...

    Reducing CYA

I know that replacing water will reduce my CYA level (currently at 70). However, if I stop using the tri-chlor pucks and go with bleach, will the CYA eventually go away on it's own?

PH continuing to rise - newbie

I screwed up the CYA during Hurricane Harvey. I thought I would be smart and fill the puck tube with about 6 pucks..............being a rookie at this, I did not know that the pucks contained CYA and thought I was just helping supply a good high dose of chlorine with all of the rain.....I see...

PH continuing to rise - newbie

I realized my signature line did not save as I had attempted............. But to clarify that my water fill is not automatic. And I am on well water. I have tested my well water (which comes out after the water softener) and my PH is 7.0 and my TA is 300.

PH continuing to rise - newbie

Fist off, let me state that this is my first post and I have never owned a pool before. We moved into this home at the end of July, this past summer, and I have been trying to get this pool under control. The previous owners were not very much on top of their game with general maintenance...
