I have the same problem. I think the remote was flakey before I upgraded the panel to handle a VS pump (old pool, new owner). Now, I can enable the remote and use it once within a few minutes or so and then it's back to disabled. Any ideas? Would a short cause it to auto disable? Thanks.

Thanks for this post - this the exact thing that was bugging me. For what it's worth, I'm also setting up a custom controller thing to integrated with my SmartThings hub using a $5 RS-485 USB dongle tied into the ScreenLogic wireless relay and their web browser interface shows the Solar Temp...
