Dolphin pool cleaner issues (Active 30i)

Thanks Steve for the suggestions. I do tend to leave the robot in the pool, but when I do take it out and put it on the caddy, I do always wrap the cable the same way on the holder and leave pretty big loops (almost touching the robot.) I'm thinking now that it stopping mid cycle, might be...

Dolphin pool cleaner issues (Active 30i)

I'm wondering if anyone else has experience issues with a Dolphin Active 30i or similar pool cleaner. Issue 1: Sometime, more often than not, the cleaner does not run the full cycle. Sometimes it will run 30 minutes, sometimes an hour and then it just stops. The controller is still on like...

Existing fiberglass pool adding waterline tile

The waterline tile was just installed a couple weeks ago, the pool has been in since September 2017. What you see on my pool is approximately 6", each square is approximately 1" plus the spacing. They dropped the water level in my pool maybe 5" below the bottom of the tile.

We went with National Pool Tile, the specific tile is called Mix Ocean - Ocean Blend. Here are some pictures.

Existing fiberglass pool adding waterline tile

They finished our tile install last weekend. We ended up going with a 1"x1" porcelain tile that was thinner than glass tiles. I was concerned that the concrete overhang in out pool might not be enough for the tile to go under but it was fine for tile we picked. I'm not sure that the glass...

How to get dried silicone off of tile?

Just had tile installed on fiberglass pool and I'm noticing some dried clear silicone on some of the tile. What is the best way to get that off? Will muriatic acid remove it without damaging the tile and grout? Thanks, David

Waterline tile added to fiberglass pool

We bought the tile from our pool builder, but I know I won't get a straight answer from him. The tile is from National Pool Tile. I was also thinking it should have a bead of grout there and yes, it is silicone grout.

Waterline tile added to fiberglass pool

Hi, We just had waterline tile installed on our fiberglass pool. They did not grout the bottom edge of the tile and I'm wondering if that's normal to leave it like that. Here are a couple photos: Thanks, David

Existing fiberglass pool adding waterline tile

Hey Jim, Yes, I'm afraid I may run into that issue as well. Currently it's concrete coping... I may squeak by when the plumb strip is removed, but I will probably have to have someone cut the existing concrete border out and replace it with something else with a bit move overhang for the tile...

Existing fiberglass pool adding waterline tile

Thanks Marty, I will make sure. I actually thought that with fiberglass pools silicone grout was a given but apparently not.

Existing fiberglass pool adding waterline tile

Hi, We have an existing Leisure Pools fiberglass pool in blue sapphire and are going to be adding tile (NPT Jules Rustic Blue Blend). I was wondering if anyone else has this tile with a sapphire blue pool that might be able to send me a photo of how it looks on the pool. Thanks, David

    FlowVis flow meter body cracked

Thanks guys! I ended up calling H2Flow to inquire. Apparently it does fit the Jandy CV body, but alters the scale. They are sending a replacement label for the meter that will adjust for the Jandy body. Sticker was free, replacement FlowVis CV body ~$40. I chose the sticker because I...

Texas, concrete pool deck lift during freeze

Thanks for the reply. Luckily it appears to have settled back into place. At this point I just need to dig out and replace the mastic since there are now gaps in it on the side of the deck drain.

    FlowVis flow meter body cracked

Hi, It seems my FlowVis was the only thing damaged by the recent Texas freeze. I can see a crack in the body, but the meter itself seems fine. I'm wondering if I could just install the meter into a Jandy check valve body. I know they sell a retrofit kit for this, but I can't find if the...

Texas, concrete pool deck lift during freeze

Hi, After the snow and hard freeze weather over the past week, I noticed that part of my concrete pool deck has lifted up about 1/4". I assume water under it froze and pushed it up. I'm wondering if anyone has seen this and after everything thaws will it go back down? If not, what are my...

    Frozen Pool Pics 🥶

Texas... started off running the pump full time, then when the blackouts started, I had to open up the pump & plumbing as best I could. I'm hoping there isn't damage when it all thaws out.
