    Opening pool

Also, I faintly remember them saying the one red valve thats by itself was an emergency valve in case the pool liner was floating. We live in an area that holds a lot of water and in the past the pool had issues with the liner floating.

    Opening pool

So we got the plugs out of the jets and the bottom of the skimmer basket, but when we turn the filter/pump on, no water is there. Am I missing something?

    Opening pool

I am assuming we just remove gizmos from jets, turn the red valves the opposite direction, then put filter on waste and let it run for a sec, then go to filter?

    Opening pool

Is this better? Also the pump just says hayward on it. There is a sticker, but its completely bleached from the sun. This was here when we bought the house.

    Opening pool

Hi all! So normally we have a fella come open our inground pool, but we are tight on funds this season. I am assuming this is something we can do. I take care of all my chemicals thanks to this forum. So when he opens it, he removes the gizmos from the jets and then gets the pump going again...

    Pool losing water

So they came out and said that it was coming out the backwash and somewhere on the actual pump also. Said we needed to buy a new valve assembly. I ordered it. I know they were turning the valves and doing different things and after they left I feel like the red valves are not turned the way they...

    Pool losing water

I wonder since the valve is hard to turn and has a leaking issue if I should go ahead and buy the new valve set up... Maybe it would solve the problem.

    Pool losing water

Yes it dumps it into the side yard through and underground pipe. It seems logical this could be the issue considering it started after we backwashed it. I wonder how to fix this?

    Pool losing water

Seems odd to me that everything was fine for about a week or so. Hopefully it's a quick fix!

    Pool losing water

I called the guy this morning that installed it and he said he would be by this evening. He said he would check to see if water is coming out around the backwash. We didnt have any water loss until the night after we back washed, but I don't see any visible water around the filter or plumbing...

    Pool losing water

We had a new vinyl liner installed on our 16x32 inground pool on the 15th (just bought house and pool was installed originally 15+ years ago). The water level was always stable, we got a really good rain on the the 22nd so the 23rd we took the opportunity to backwash and it didn't make much of a...

    Levels look alright?

Thanks for a quick reply. We are getting lots of use out of the pool so wanted to make sure we are doing it right. Should I try to up the PH? I will continue to add bleach everyday and hopefully we will be good. :) I called Taylor and asked if they could send me the bottle that was left out and...

    Levels look alright?

So we recently bought a house with a 16x32 inground vinyl liner pool. We had the liner replaced 3 or 4 days ago. I tested the water 2 nights ago for FC and got 4.2.. I hadn't added any chemicals yet because of work so I was shocked to have a 4.2 FC.. last night I checked the FC again and it was...

Awesome! I will get it in 2 weeks. I am hoping my pool doesn't get too bad in that time frame. Our pool was just installed and after seeing pool store prices we decided to order online.

    Dolphin Nautilus Pro

Is a robotic pool vacuum needed in your alls opinion? I work long hours, have a toddler and don't have much time. I purchase the Dolphin nautilus pro and was wondering if it is going to be as great as the reviews on amazon!

    FC level for city water

I test approximately 18 inches below the water level of the pool. And I am not very smart with the pump and filter. I have read pool school and have tried to educate myself on the water chemistry. I have worked everyday since they came out and put everything together, but my husband said there...

    FC level for city water

So we just filled our 16x32 inground pool 2 days ago. We filled it using the hose and city water. I tested the FC last night and was getting 4.7ppm. Does it seem normal for city water to already have that kind of FC level? The pool people automatically put chlorine tabs in our pump, but my...

    ordering pool liner

I ordered a vinyl liner 3 weeks ago from a pool store that will be installing it and it still hasn't came in. Does this seem normal? I have no idea what goes into these liners and was more or less just curious.

    Pump/filter help

Sounds good. We can wait and see if it all works. I am not real sure why they are asking $1500 + labor. I guess we will see what happens when we try to run it all :)

    Pump/filter help

CJadamec- To be totally honest I don't know much about the equipment lol. I just know its a Hayward Sand filter pump. I can take a picture of it and post when I go in from work tonight. That was the big thing we didn't know, after 15+ years should we expect it to be in working condition? The...
