This seems like a dumb question, but I am closing my pool today. It has been at shock level for 24 hours and is a vacuumed and now it is time to drain 6" below the water return. How exactly do I do that?

I am looking to get a solar heater for my AGP. I live in upstate NY and my pool temp never gets over 80. The pool is about 1/2 shaded in the afternoons. I have been looking at these on ebay since that seems to be the cheapest place to get them. Here's the link...

It has been this bluish color for about 2 weeks now. I have been taking it to the pool store and all they tell me is keep adding 2 bags of shock and that the ph is a little high and to lower it. Here are my test results (from the pool store) from this morning. It is an 18000 gallon above...
