    Sun shade installed

Yeah we have it on a pulley system. So when I see rain all I have to do is loosen up the rope from the boat cleat. Reposition if rain is in the forcast! But thanks for the advice! Everyone likes the shade high above for throwing a football etc.

Anyone use sun shades or sails to shade pool?

I am looking to cover my 33" above ground pool with a 20x20 sun shade. I was curious how well they work. And if anyone else has done it and maybe has a picture or two:).

    Keep getting sand in pool

I had a similar problem. I found I was getting sand in my pool after I backwashed the filter. What I have found to work is to set my sand filter valve to Rinse for 10 mins after backwashing. Hope it helps for you. Seemed to fix my problem.

New Semi In-Ground Saltwater LX 24’ Pool

I buried my pool about 24" deep on one side. My backyard has a slight hill. So on one side its buried and the other not at all. I definetly havent had any issues with burying it. My pool instructions said it could be vuried up to 30" deep. I have not had any critters ever get into it.

    My DIY pool real

This is a setup I made out of 6" irrigation pipe 35' long. With 8 90lbs capacity rubber casters, 2 4 x 6's and about 400 lbs of concrete. Also a simple handle made of scrap steel I had laying around. I have not been able to try this reel yet... Since its pretty much still winter in northern...

Here to help anyone with their first agp build.

Hi, I just thought I would share any info I gathered from doing my first above ground pool install. I did alot of research about how to do the job perfectly. Would enjoy answering any questions people have about taking on the task. My pool was 33' round. With 54" walls and sunken 26" on one...

I would say aslong as it was 4 feet wider on all sides it should disperse the weight.

What size pump do you have? If my water level is low at all. I sometimes get a vortex. I have a 2hp two speed.

just reeived my hair-nets for skimmers

I wanted to add... I purchased mine from Gordons food for 6.99 per 100. They work excellent and no more tearing apart my pump to take a tiny wad of something stuck in the impeller.

Does a 16' AGP need sand?

I have hears of some people using styrofoam for a base. Taped together with duct tape.

Does a 16' AGP need sand?

I would atleast use a inch to two inches of sand. If you really do not want to purchase and haul in sand. Then maybe a gorilla liner would be ok for your pool. Especially if the soil is free of rocks and debris.

Does a 16' AGP need sand?

Duraleigh is 100% correct. My entire pool was within 1/4" of level accross 33'. Even then a couple blocks had a 1/8" difference and when filling those few were noticeable.

Does a 16' AGP need sand?

Yes wheelbarrow in mason sand. I just installed my first above ground and removed the sod and laser leveled the blocks for columns. I used 2-3 inches of sand combined with a gorilla liner. I heard also that the smell of the grass decomposing under the pool is pretty bad.

New pool owner. Is there a reason no one uses chlorine tablets?

Thanks Fingaling. Yeah I have a solar cover too. But having no reel right now it is a pain taking it off and on. 33' round sounded great at the time! Now Im noticing how limited I am on options with that 33' size. Thanks I will try the winter cover!

New pool owner. Is there a reason no one uses chlorine tablets?

I appreciate all of the helpful responses. My pool came with a start up kit which included tablets and not so accurate test strips. I will be ordering the more accurate testing method shortly. But so far running the chlorinator on level 5 out of 9. My strips show perfect. I may switch to...

New pool owner. Is there a reason no one uses chlorine tablets?

Pabeader, can I have an example? Like a gallon a week? 2 gallons a week? How many gallons is your pool? And I just opened my pool last week and filled with new water. Can I start using the liquid method now? Only been using pucks for 3 days.

New pool owner. Is there a reason no one uses chlorine tablets?

Thank you so much Fingaling! That info is very useful. Well some of the pictures Ive seen on this forum...have like 40 empty bleach containers in the background. So I am just under the impression that I would always be buying and stocking tons of gallons of chlorine or bleach. But thanks for...

New pool owner. Is there a reason no one uses chlorine tablets?

I bought my 33' above ground pool 54" deep pool under the impression I would be using a hayward automatic chlorine feeder. It is inline. And I have read that everyone on here seems to be using liquid chlorine in one gallon bottles. Honestly I do not feel like messing with liquid. I am not...
