    2018 Bleach Prices

Are you sure about that? Last I checked, they told me it was $17, which is not a great price. When did you get the $13 price for 4 gallons? And which Leslie's?

    2018 Bleach Prices

OK. So after further investigation, I found that Pinch a Penny Pool Patio Spa sells liquid chlorine in Houston area. Their stores are located on the west and north sides of town. They sell 12% of 2.5 gal for $8.53 (22.2 cents/oz). This is by far the cheapest price I found. The only catch is that...

    2018 Bleach Prices

Thank you guys for all your input. Here is the research I did based on what I read here and on my own: Places to buy chlorine in Houston (I am in Southwest part of Houston, so driving up to Spring to Napco is not an option for me) 1. Home Depot--HDX Chlorinating Liquid 3x1 gal 10% for $9.98...

    Cloudy/milky water...

Hi everyone. Over the last two weeks, there has been a lot of rain here in Houston (well, more than two weeks) and a lot of pollen got thrown into my pool. Black Algae, High CH--drain or not to drain?

OK. So from what I read, it should be enough to scrape the heads of black algae with the metal brush and keep FC at mustard algae shock level for a couple of days in order to get rid of black and mustard algae for good. Is that correct? No pressure washing, chlorine washing, or acid washing...

Black Algae, High CH--drain or not to drain?

Thanks for the reply, duraleigh. I did not mean that I would get rid of algae by just draining the pool. I watched videos about chlorine washing the algae and acid washing (is it just for stains?). I don't know what other methods there are to get rid of black algae once the water is down, but I...

Black Algae, High CH--drain or not to drain?

Hello, I have a gunite pool with many black algae spots and some mustard algae. My CH is also at 550 causing some calcium scaling (it's not too bad). I tested my fill water, and it is at CH 200. I think my pool could greatly benefit from replacing some water. I am thinking because there is so...
