    Leak Diagnosis

I sealed up the skimmer entrance area with 3M 5200 Marine Adhesive and used two-part epoxy on the stair crack and skimmer area crack. Seems to be holding

    Leak Diagnosis

Bumping this thread as I try to fix this again this year. Unsuccessful last year in trying to figure it out. So this past week I've been letting the level drop to find the leak point. I was sure it was the skimmer, but now I have some new data. At the stairs today, there is a steady stream...

    Leak Diagnosis

So the pool has settled out and stopped leaking at its currently level, basically at the bare minimum for the skimmer to operate. How would you address this skimmer to search for leaks?

    Leak Diagnosis

Letting the pool level drop now so hopefully I’ll see soon when it stops. I also did another overnight test with the main drain plugged and pump running. Still get the high loss. Leaning towards skimmer now...

    Leak Diagnosis

Hello all, 16000 GAL inground pool in MD. So we went on vacation for 8 days and came back to a number of problems, including a leak at about 150 GAL/day. While we were gone, it rained A LOT and must have brought the water level too high. When I opened up the skimmer, the basket was empty and...

New ET and IC40. No lights. Com Link Error

I am really struggling with this new Easy Touch install and now the IC40 startup. I can't get the SWG lights to come on in any mode (service or auto). If I power down all the breakers and turn back on the Easytouch SWG diagnostic will come back OK for a few minutes but then eventually will...

    Bonding

Thank you. I am leaving the connection and will check continuity when I get the pool open. Pool School somewhat addresses this but I just wanted to be sure. Pool School - Bonding vs Grounding "The bonding system and the grounding system are often connected together, especially in Canada...

    Bonding

I've read countless threads and articles, but I can't seem to find a clear, definitive answer: 1. I am redo'ing my complete pad (Easy Touch + Intelliflo + Cartridge + SCG IC40). 2. I am connecting all these metal items with 8 AWG copper to the bonding lugs and split bolts where needed. 3. A...

    Understanding New Pool

It turns out the side wall port is in fact the second line shown with no valve. Thanks for helping me troubleshoot that.

    Understanding New Pool

Turning it to RECIRC turned out to be a good idea last night. At least I have water circulating now. No drop in flow overnight. So either the sand filter is slowing things down or air is being trapped in the filter? I also added a pressure gage to the top of the sand filter (replacing that...

    Understanding New Pool

Thanks for the quick response. - The pump basket O-Ring looks good, but I will go ahead and add some lube to ensure seal. I will also check all the drain ports, they were left in place over winter. I didn't really check them since they were already in place. - I am pretty confident the broken...

    Understanding New Pool

Also wondering if someone could help me decipher this plumbing. The pipe with the broken valve comes from the skimmer. I have no idea what that other pipe is with no valve. I was planning to replace that broken-handled valve with a union, would that be smart?

    Understanding New Pool

Hello, Purchased a new home back in January and now getting to learn some pool basics. The house has a ~15000 Gal pool built in the 70's with some recent update work by the old owners. Other than that, I know nothing other than what I can troubleshoot/decipher. 1. The skimmer has two holes...
