Plaster issue since build several years ago

We were told by the PB that the problem noted in the picture below was caused by "cream" that had yet to come off. We were told to brush, brush, brush. So, we did. We scrubbed all areas really well, and concentrated quite a bit of effort on the patch/streak areas. It still looks exactly the...

Should I just drain and refill?? Ugh

I agree with above. Just a thought though, if you dumped a ton of chlorine in your pool and it quickly turned green, it could be because of metal. That has happened to me before. I was told by the pool store to use algicide, but I had a feeling it was metal as we have high iron content in...

So, plaster for the third time...

So funny, I found the same thing AFTER all of this happened. I did get the CuLator packets for the scupper. We do plan on trying out the bucket and pillow stuffing method to filter (just because my husband will love trying that out). Thanks for the info!

So, plaster for the third time...

Riley! It's like old home week with everyone checking in that was SO helpful during my mini breakdowns. You are exactly right about no one else noticing. I'm just to the point where I don't want them to do anything else to it. My husband had another pool company come out and look at the...

So, plaster for the third time...

Pics of the finished pool today. I think it's looking much better than the other two times they plastered. Hope this will be my forever pool! LOL

So, plaster for the third time...

Thank you. That's what I thought. I researched it, and my husband and I both called and spoke with a Stonescapes representative about the mixing and application process. So, I felt pretty prepared for the plaster day. I noticed a few things that didn't coincide with the information that we...

So, plaster for the third time...

I do believe that you did. I learned a lot by looking at the information that you sent. I was prepared this time around. Knowledge is power!

So, plaster for the third time...

They did not damped the walls before acid washing them, they in fact used a blower to dry them completely before applying the acid. I actually video taped a portion of it because it's a never-ending saga with these guys. They meet the definition of insanity. I went out to talk to the guy that...

So, plaster for the third time...

The walls were structurally sound with no rebar sticking out or near the surface. We had it checked out by another pool contractor that is local, and they said it was fine. We also found out that another pool, much larger than ours, was plastered with the Tahoe Blue Quartz within one day of...

So, plaster for the third time...

This is where the tile is "trenched in". Honestly, I'll get over it. it's pretty minor considering everything...lol. The other is a picture of the tile and the abalone. It really sparkles. I like the way the tile contrasts with this color when it actually kind of faded into the background of...

So, plaster for the third time...

Yes, it does Kim, I'll attach some pics in a minute. You can feel it dip in under your foot too. I guess I should look on the bright side and be happy of the less wear and tear on the glass tile...LOL! I've been outside brushing and brushing. Man is it hot! The color doesn't even really come...

So, plaster for the third time...

Okay, so they just finished plastering our pool for the third time. It's aqua white mini pebble by StoneScapes. We've had nothing but trouble with the previous two plaster jobs that were done. Just check my posts to see the mess. Well, so far, it looks okay. Not spectacular by any means...

Plaster repair always going to look noticeable?

We just received samples yesterday of the proposed new plaster finish. It's Stonescapes mini pebble. We were told verbally by the PB that he wanted to use Pebble Tec, so I'm not sure what's going on with all of that. So now, we are checking out the mini pebble. On a happy note the pool is...

Plaster repair always going to look noticeable?

Thanks, Kim. I appreciate the offer! I'm sorry. I was just venting, and kind of got off of subject. I will keep everyone updated :)

Plaster repair always going to look noticeable?

Wow,that's what we were thinking. Ugh. This is going to get to ugly. I know we need to do it, and I know my husband can get it done, I just feel awful that we have to go through this along with the BS we are going through in our personal business with not so good employees. This stinks. I...

Plaster repair always going to look noticeable?

Chuck, The plaster was actually cracked everywhere like an egg before they even began filling the pool. They definitely chipped more than an inch in several places. My husband states they were using a flat chisel (like 3" wide) and pointed chisels to chip out the pool. I think they basically...

Plaster repair always going to look noticeable?

We will definitely have the pool shell checked out. It makes us both sick what another chip out will do to it as well. Almost feel like they should just start over because it's about 30 years or more worth of wear on the shell to chip it all out again. Another question. Did anyone ever have...

Plaster repair always going to look noticeable?

Well, for a whole day I thought maybe they were right and those cracks might be healing. Didn't happen. The pool chemistry balanced, and the water turned crystal clear, and there they were in all their glory. The PB is going to redo it again in a few weeks, but will be going with a pebble...
