Installing a Fence Around The Pool

Thanks for the responses. I was able to get the permit plans from the city (great idea); however, it didn't show anything related to the piping system. I was able to contact the sellers and they assured me the pipes are at least 3 ft deep so there was nothing to worry about. I knew they would...

Installing a Fence Around The Pool

Hello, I am putting in a WamBAM fence in the next couple of weeks around the pool. Being new to the house, I do not know where the pipes run underground. Any advice on determining this sort of attempting to dig up the path? The distance from the pad to the pool deck isn't very far. Is it...

    Stain or mustard/yellow algae?

I know the pictures are really hard to see, but i started noticing these mustard/yellow patches popping up around the pool. If you brush them or take a towel to them, they dissappear for a few days but come back in the same spot. I was away for about 5 days on vacation so my chlorine had dropped...

    Calcium Deposits

Thanks for all the advice! Will try all of your suggestions. When we bought the house, the pool was like this so we are trying to fix it up. Been working on lowering the pH and TA. They released a quality water report for Phoenix and the Calcium is high, so I don't really see how I can lower...

    Calcium Deposits

Good morning, What are the best products to attack the calcium buildup I have on my pool tiles (pictures below). The pumice stone I have does some work, but I know I need something else to truly take it down. Any products anyone can recommend would be great! Also, one general question, how...

New to forum and owning a pool with a few initial questions

Quick update with an additional question. Got my additional test kit and got my FC up to 6.8 ppm, up from 1.6 ppm, so check one. Here's my question, using pool math, I added 60 oz muriatic acid to get my pH from 8.2 (on 5/2) down to 7.8 (on 5/3). Then I added another 30 oz to lower to 7.5...

Thanks for the tips and the provided chart. Please see my updated signature below. Anything else I need to be concerned about with my testing levels at this point? Or get the test and get my FC measures and up to par?

FC: 1-2 CC: 0 ? (see below) CYA: 53 pH: 8.2 TA: 160 CH: 430 For FC, I thought the reading was closer to 1, my wife thought closer to 2. Either way, both FC and TC were in the 1-2 range, which gives you a CC of 0....am I doing that correctly? The acid demand test had 5 drops to get to a pH of...

New to forum and owning a pool with a few initial questions

Good afternoon, We bought our first house two months ago complete with the first pool we have ever owned. I have dabbled here and there on this site for various items, namely testing of the pool chemistry. We have an 18,000 gallon plaster pool that am so far very happy with. I use a Taylor...
