    Problem with Pentair IC40 SWG

Sorry for this delayed reply. Allen, you were right, there is was just staring at me. I reset the breaker and tested it... and no green light. I want to mention that the breaker switch feels different in that it does not click into the on/off position, it feels kind of broken. Anyway I'm...

Thanks Allen, I'll go back and look at it again after the sun goes down.

    Problem with Pentair IC40 SWG

Thanks Nathan. I'm sure I "could". I've had some health issues that have affected my concentration as well as vision. I've owned a Klien Voltage Meter for years. and have never been able to figure out how to use it for the thing like to this. In my 5o's I wired our 1916 Craftsman's kitchen, in...

    Problem with Pentair IC40 SWG

I guess it's better to say I check it every few months. There may be a good good amount of calcium build up which I am able to use the jet setting on our hose to clean out. I seldom need to do an acid wash, maybe once a year. And then I do my best to do a weak mixture of acid/water. When I...

    Problem with Pentair IC40 SWG

Hi Jim, Thanks for your reply. I usually receive an email from TFP when someone posts a reply, but never received one - so glad I logged in just now. Questions: When you say "reset the breaker" I assume you're referencing the thing I was referring to as the "fuse" in the upper right corner I...

    Problem with Pentair IC40 SWG

Hi TFP! FYI, our pool build was completed in 2017. I’ve been avoiding a number of repairs that seem/are above what I believe I’m capable of. I wanted to reach out and see if anyone could give me some tips so I’m not taken advantage of by the repair people who will be coming out next week. I’m...

Sudden problem with all 4 of our Pentair lights

Ahultin, thank you for all the time and effort you have put in to help me. This is definitely seems above my comfort level. I will be standing by watching the Pentair pool guy every step of the way. You're the best! — York

Sudden problem with all 4 of our Pentair lights

The breaker I moved the hot from was not a gfci breaker (right?). The breaker I moved it to also was not gfci. Isn't that the same?

Sudden problem with all 4 of our Pentair lights

It seems that I'm not seeing your replies very quickly....sorry. Yes, the GFCI on the right side was tripped when I started this saga. I don't think this changes anything, but when I first started this (turning on any light), the breaker that controlled the lights kept tripping (and tripping...

Sudden problem with all 4 of our Pentair lights

Not sure where to look for the GFCI switch/button - I'm assuming it is the white square button. The breaker for the lights does not have one. Also, the relay switch does not look like it is tripped.

Sudden problem with all 4 of our Pentair lights

Ahultin, I've been reading the links (and links within those links) regarding the relay's. SO HELPFUL. Not sure I'm comfortable doing much of what they say, but I will take a look at the relay switch I see on the front of the panel to see if that is something I can reset like a breaker. I'll...

Sudden problem with all 4 of our Pentair lights

Ahultin , I just saw your reply. I thank you for your continued input. I questioned if something like than may be the issue. To be honest I have always been confused as to what constitutes a relay. As I mentioned we have three transformers outside our Pool's Panel. I assumed that they allowed...

Sudden problem with all 4 of our Pentair lights

Somehow I have gotten by without using one ... and I am certainly not an electrician :-) All the DIY work I've done around our homes has been simple and quite straight forward. I realize this is well over my stills.

Sudden problem with all 4 of our Pentair lights

No, No, not the multimeter! Yes I have one, a Klein MM200. Had it for years and never seemed to figure it out. I will crack open that manual (once again) and see if my aging years have helped my brain function. I would be good for me to have a better idea if they are that problem before our...

Sudden problem with all 4 of our Pentair lights

Thanks Ahultin. When I turn the tester on (pressing for 1, 2 or more seconds) I always get a green light on the right side, the left side remains dark. I tried it our outdoor pathway lights, which I know is getting power and still no response from the tester. I'm now thinking that the problem...

Sudden problem with all 4 of our Pentair lights

Hi Everyone, I’m a DIY’er. I’ve done our home wiring for decades. I rewired our kitchen in Los Angeles and passed the city inspection (granted that was 15 years ago). Now I’m at my wits end with our pool lights. Over the past couple months I’ve replaced all four of our Pentair Globrite LED...

    New O-ring?

Thanks everyone! I do have extra o-rings, I just was not aware that these had o-rings. I did look in the closet for the cap we have for acid cleaning the cell. That cap has an o-ring and it's 2.5", so it seems to be the same as what is used for those unions.
