Small orange specks on fiberglass steps. Nothing getting them out.

I don't want to get too aggressive with it. No one notices it but me since some dirt/grime settles on the steps from usage anyway. I'll stop fighting with it and live with it since it's not something as easy as "oh just go buy xyz and let it sit 5 minutes. Thank you!

Small orange specks on fiberglass steps. Nothing getting them out.

I can't feel any bumps or divots, feels completely smooth to me.

Small orange specks on fiberglass steps. Nothing getting them out.

Having a new deck and liner being done. The steps are in OK shape and didn't want to spend another 4 or 5k on new ones. I've been cleaning the mess out of them and they look OK but have these small orange dots that I cannot figure out how to get out. I've used Bleach Vinegar Ascorbic acid...

TFP I have a BFP. Metal racks in dark green pool

OK. I try a different method each year when it gets too cold to swim. This year I just shut everything off and left the pool uncovered. Turned dark green. Expected. I've been dipping leaves out and I THINK the deep end is okish. The problem is we had an extreme wind storm a couple of weeks ago...

Liner lock - to use or not?

Any advice on what the correct way is? I'd assume make sure it's tucked in as well as possible and go around with a mallet tapping it in?

Liner lock - to use or not?

I think it's that the liner lock will stretch the liner, widden the gap. Then in the future you'll have a gap too big for the stuff to work.

Liner lock - to use or not?

Finding conflicting stuff online. Have enough to go all the way around the pool liner track. But reading online I've seen some folks say not to use it unless necessary. Reason being that if the liner does sag or pop out, you've already used the "fix" to keep it in place and exhausted an option...

What happened to my system? Breeze 540 (pics)

For what it's worth, I called the manufacturer and they said it's failure of the cell. They are sending me a replacement. Lucked out as it is right at 3 years old. Ill be curious if they find out what the issue was and if there was anything I could do to prevent it.

What happened to my system? Breeze 540 (pics)

Noticed the service light was on so did some closer looking and the connection at the wall looks like... Well see the pic. I pulled the unit apart and the plates are clean, but the front part... Almost feels like broken glass. No idea if it originally looked like that (haven't opened it before)...

Can't get rid of green deep end and cloudy yellow?

Using the tft test kit. It's about 18 months old... Hopefully the stuff is still useful. And tested the cya inside, not out in the dark. Unfortunately I didn't do a full test before slam because Im a moron and figured I'd just dump a bunch of chlorine in like last time and be good to go after...

Can't get rid of green deep end and cloudy yellow?

Numbers pH 7.5 (before slam) Chlorine 17 CC 2 CH 75 TA 75 CYA 0 to 10 (50 before slam) Little to no debris on bottom of pool. First week didn't have much luck, think it was because I wasn't brushing. Back washing wasn't really getting my any nasty stuff in the sight glass. Was keeping...

Rusted/damaged coping - how to fix and ok to let stuff fall in pool?

The coping is steel. I was thinking I could spot fill the "holes" where it's completely rusted away with fiberglass resin and shape it to look as... Normal as possible. That would be for making it look nicer. Some spots of the coping have half dollar size spots rusted away.

Rusted/damaged coping - how to fix and ok to let stuff fall in pool?

I had thought of using a rust converter. Then using a marine grade bondo to fill in the gaps. Then sand and paint. A little worried about the fiber glass being sanded down and getting into the pool.

Rusted/damaged coping - how to fix and ok to let stuff fall in pool?

I've had several folks look and they shrug their shoulders. Only one that offered a fix was the cut the concrete a foot back from the edge and go towards the coping and pull it from the back. Expensive and then would have a mix of new and old decking. Others have said to replace it when the...

Foreclosure and now I have all zeros and stuff...

I've wondered about the filter but the pool guy installed a new valve last year so surely he checked all that sort of stuff out (he's been doing it almost 40 years). Here's the steps today: http://imgur.com/AIhwy2s And the pool itself: http://imgur.com/lhBULx1 So it seems like it's getting...

Foreclosure and now I have all zeros and stuff...

Sorry for the belated update, been tied up with work :( There seems to be improvement. I think with the lowered CYA and increased FC I'm making some headway. I can see my brush head when I'm brushing the shallow end. Weather has been goofy here so hard to get pictures that are consistent...

Foreclosure and now I have all zeros and stuff...

I've been using the Great Value 8.25% from Wal-Mart. And dosing twice, if not three times a day. When I get up, when I get home for lunch, and home in the evening. Some days I don't make it home at lunch or too behind to get it done in the morning. Current readings: 70F water temp FC 17 CC...

Foreclosure and now I have all zeros and stuff...

Thanks for replying. I've tested CYA 4 times or so with a consistent 30 to 35. Using Great Value 8.25% from Wal-Mart, literally took bottles out of the boxes from the stocking clerk. Drunk and gonna go backwash and dump another gallon in. - - - Updated - - - Yup, brushed 3 times today...

Foreclosure and now I have all zeros and stuff...

Hey folks, getting a little discouraged. Have had the pump running 24/7 for coming up on 7 days today and still really green with no hope in sight. I've added DE, brushed twice a day, kept the FC above 12, etc. with no luck. I'm tempted to dump another two gallons in to see what happens but...

Foreclosure and now I have all zeros and stuff...

I have the tftestkits.com $70 thingy. Measured at lunch and down to about 11FC and 30CYA. Dumped another gallon of 8.25% bleach in. "Feels" like stuff should be dying more quickly. Running the pump 24/7. I'm not expecting it to clear up quickly, but would expect it to be less green... And...

Foreclosure and now I have all zeros and stuff...

I'll double-check my CYA today and make sure it's not higher than what I first thought. I've been keeping my SWG turned off while doing this. I assume that's the correct course of action?

Foreclosure and now I have all zeros and stuff...

Here is yesterday morning: http://imgur.com/iQcxeJb And this morning: http://imgur.com/XE1WwL3 Doesn't seem like much of an improvement from last night. My chlorine levels last night were about 14, didn't have a chance to check this morning. It should be clear of most debris now, except for...

I've got this leaf net: https://www.amazon.com/ProTuff-Pool-Net-Guarantee-Professional/dp/B00KCXXVPQ/ref=sr_1_12?ie=UTF8&qid=1490281169&sr=8-12&keywords=pool+leaf+net Works really well. There isn't that much debris on the bottom. I know what's there as I was going to get the stuff out but a...

Foreclosure and now I have all zeros and stuff...

Thanks for the pointers. Took the net out last night and skimmed everything I could off the top. I dumped 3 3/4 gallons of 8.25% bleach in at lunch and started the pump. Will be home later and hopefully will be able to see the bottom again at some point, can fish out other debris then.
