Jandy RS8 and a heater bypass

Boo ok thanks, after reading the manual I thought that might be the case, guess it’s time to write my own automation for it. Maybe I can write some code that listens to the fireman’s switch and control the actuator myself.

Jandy RS8 and a heater bypass

Hi, I have a Jandy RS8 with IAqualink, I’ve just changed my pool heater (Raypak AVIA 404, using the Fireman’s switch) and added a bypass to the plumbing, did not think it all they way through… how do I connect an actuator to the RS8 so that it automatically bypasses the heater when the heat mode...

    Zodiac 4424 Valve Actuator Replacement

Thanks for the tip, yes will do. They both actually still work fine, but are super old. I'm completely rebuilding the pad after laying new pavers, with new 3-ways and a new heater. I thought I'd splurge and get new actuators as well, and I wanted a 3rd for the heater bypass too

    Zodiac 4424 Valve Actuator Replacement

Hi, I need to replace my really old, Valve Actuators, it looks like the Jandy and Pentair ones are ~$200 Amazon has 3rd-party ones Swimables, TORK, and Intermatic for $50 to $100 less. I know you almost always get what you pay for, but does anyone have any experience good/bad with the lesser...

    Odd Raypak model number: B-R407A-EN-C

Thanks for the responses, I went with the RAYPAK AVIA 404K Low NOx NITEK NAT Gas Heater in the end. Got it locally at a good price, pick it up Monday.

    Odd Raypak model number: B-R407A-EN-C

Thanks for the quick response. Just when I thought I had all the choices narrowed down, they throw another in the mix... So to me brass headers would be better than plastic, so how come is $500 cheaper? B-R407A-EN-C vs P-R407AL-EN-C And now I also see the Avia has moved to the same design as...

    Odd Raypak model number: B-R407A-EN-C

Hi, I need to replace my pool heater, it's currently between the MaterTemp 400 and the Raypak equivalent, in doing my research I found this model Raypak B-R407A-EN-C https://lesliespool.com/raypak-017708-digital-bronze-low-nox-asme-natural-gas-399000-btu-commercial-pool-heater/959835.html it...

Raising the filter for easier plumbing?

Not decided yet, as I'm pouring the concrete for the pad, I will either get fancy with the 2x4 and just build up the end where the filter sits, but as this is my first venture in to concrete, more than likely buy 2 or 3 prefab pavers and stack them to get the height I want.

Raising the filter for easier plumbing?

As part of redoing my pad, to make connecting the pump to the multi valve easier (less 90's), I was thinking of raising up my DE filter maybe 6" to 8" from the rest of the pad. The pad is approximately the same height as the level of the pool, and the spa level is about 18" above that. Any...

    New pad + acid

Jandy 7512 90-Degree, 2-Inch to 2-1/2-Inch Check Valve, my drawing skill is terrible, its only 2d but the idea is that that connection would be vertical, so the check had a foot or so of water above it, to keep it closed. It was intended to protect the heater from the SWCG and acid, I did not...

    New pad + acid

The acid block is a T with a reducer in it, and connected to the stenner acid pump, the reducer has a check valve in it to prevent water going back into the acid tank, it is also wired to the main pump power so it can't add acid if the main pool pump is not on. I plan to fill the acid tank with...

    New pad + acid

Hi, so I am finally getting round to redoing my pad, this is what I have now: I plan to rip it all out, make a nice concrete pad all the way to the edge of the house, leaving a rectangle of earth for the pipes to come up out of the ground. I have a new multiport valve to replace the T valve...

    What multiport valve?

If you are using unions, is that not more joints to leak? The slip that’s glued and the union? Or is the union joint far better than the threaded end? Thanks for the info!

    What multiport valve?

Hi, I want to replace my old, and getting hard to move, plunger style filter valve with a multiport valve with more than just a backwash function. I have the Pentair DE FNS Plus 60 filter, looking at the Pentair site I can see these two: Pentair 261142 2-Inch HiFlow Valve or Pentair 261152...

Don’t know then, all I can do is report what happened. Both the function and the speed were called Spillover. I changed the speed label to SpillSPD and the line in the schedule changed name to SpillSPD. I deleted that line and went to add a new line, saw Spillover and added it, and the...

Agreed, my speed labels don’t show either, that’s what confused me. I think it’s a programming error, the list item was the spillover function label but when it comes to execute that schedule item, it finds the speed setting label before the function label. In the code I guess they don’t have a...

Yup, both the speed setting and the actual device had the same name: spillover I changed the speed setting to be called spillSPD and the line on the schedule that I had put in changed to that name. I went to add a new schedule and saw spillover so added that and it worked.
