Upgrading my equipment pad; need advice, suggestions and tips!

Hey all, So I managed to finish my upgrade. We had a bit of trouble thanks to the uneven concrete that makes up the equipment pad and crooked pipes coming from the ground. So it is by no means perfect, but everything is flowing right; no leaks. Here are some pics:

Upgrading my equipment pad; need advice, suggestions and tips!

Jim, That's what I'm afraid of if I take off that check valve because I think there's a 90 elbow right after leading to the skimmer. I'll have to dig a little deeper to check. Maybe I could plug the skimmer? Thanks! Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

That looks pretty good. I may switch back to a sand filter in the future if this doesn't work out. Any ideas where I should make my cuts? At both red marks or the blue mark for the return? The blue mark is underground.

Ok sounds good. I'll just plumb it in for some extra circulation, maybe get an eye? Any ideas on the sewer line? Cap it? Can I use it for anything else? Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk

Jim, I would still use a tee to plumb it in?

Jim, Thanks for the compliment on the pics! Those are some great suggestions, thank you. I do have the unions on the way too. Do I have to do anything with the Polaris line from inside the pool if I cap it on the outside, like a plug or just leave it as is? Sent from my SM-N900V using...

Upgrading my equipment pad; need advice, suggestions and tips!

Hey all, I'm updating my pool equipment. I purchased an Pentair Intelliflo 011018 (overkill for my pool, but it's such a nice pump that I had to have it), Pentair CCP420 and a FlowVis. I've never plumbed before but my dad will be helping me out (he's done sprinkler systems). Any tips or...

    Hello from Northern California!

You're welcome! :D Yea I'm a bit of a control freak, but it works for me (most of the time anyway lol). I'll do more research to see if the dual speed will fulfill my inner control freak. Awesome I love all the resources you guys have here. Wow two tablespoons!? I'll definitely make sure...

    Hello from Northern California!

Yea I'm starting to get the rhythm thanks to everyone's help here! I do like the idea of controlling the speed though lol Fixed my signature :D Oh I've read about the DE trick, how much would I add? My sand filter holds 250 lbs if that helps. I think I'm going to do it next year. Any...

    Hello from Northern California!

Thanks for the help. FC - 4.8 I just added the CYA yesterday so should I wait until next week to up the FC to 10? I'm ready for plaster but considering getting a VS pump and a new sand filter with zeosand (if it's any good, thoughts?). Maybe even a robotic cleaner to get rid of the energy...

    Hello from Northern California!

Here are the test results FC - 1 pH - 7.8 TA - 100 CH - 220 CYA - 0 Temp - 52.6 F CSI - 0.03 The leaks really mess with my CH levels and CYA levels because of the amount of new water i have to add.

    Hello from Northern California!

Thanks! The two white things are solar copper ionizers. I mainly wanted to test it out, but I'm not sure I get enough sun. It could also be that I have the filter trickling and booster pump dripping. Thanks for the schedule. I'm going to have to shock. I...

    Hello from Northern California!

I'm glad I found you guys too! I have the Taylor K-2006 FAS-DPD test kit. I haven't tested this week yet. Thanks for the reference. I'm going to attach some pictures, maybe you guys can help me identify the sand filter; it looks old and has no stickers. It has a leak around the clamp and at...

    Hello from Northern California!

I inherited a pool with my house. I'm not sure when it was built, but the house was built in 1975. I've been getting the hang of the chemistry part so far, but I'm going to have to re-plaster and maybe upgrade the equipment.
