No one has asked yet what your salt level is and are the indicator lights on the Intellichlor saying it's functioning properly.

    Thanks for the info!!

Thanks pooldv That is an Active 10 and it helped so much to grab the leaves and debris off the bottom of the pool when we couldn't see it. Saved me so much time, I would spend that money in a heartbeat again!! - - - Updated - - - Will do Bob, but it won't be until after Saturday. Won't be...

Next steps are: 1 - Order more R-0013 reagent You need to know your CYA so you can know what levels you need for Shock FC Daily Target FC Range Minimum FC to be able to maintain a clear pool 2 - Keep your FC elevated (I would hold it at 10 until you know your CYA)until...

With a CC of 1, there is something being burned off by the chlorine. You can't back off until You are done when: CC is 0.5 or lower; You pass an OCLT (ie overnight FC loss test shows a loss of 1.0 ppm or less); And the water is clear.

You will need to order some more R-0013 reagent. Unless you know what your CYA level is, you have no way of knowing what FC level to maintain to beat the algae. If your CYA level is low enough, FC of 19.5 may be fine for a short while. For example, a CYA value of 45 has a shock level of 18...

    light green pool (just opened)

It's possible, that 4 lbs of Cal-Hypo you dropped in spiked your FC to 50 ppm so in 3 days your algae and sun burned off 30 ppm. 5 gals may be enough, it may not be enough, depends on how bad the algae is, how much CYA you have, and how diligent you are with brushing, vacuuming and maintaining...

    Thanks for the info!!

I hope that people can understand that this was a reclamation of a pool on weekends only. Yes it took longer than someone watching it every day, but with careful planning and little ingenuity, it can be done.

Thanks Kim, this house is a weekend/vacation/holiday house for us. We are living in a Condo for the work week and then at the house for everything else. The house is at a large lake, Lake Shelbyville that we have a boat in a slip at the Marina.

Hi everybody, thought I would share my story with you and my success to date using the methodology taught here. We bought a house end of Feb with an ABG pool and a huge deck. The deck, the fence, and the pool were rundown and neglected. We originally planned to rip it out and get rid of it...
