    White Chalky Substance

The house is a rental, pool was in poor shape when we moved in. The plaster is chipped or actively chipping throughout the entire pool and spa. And the white, chalky substance is on every part of the plaster that is submerged (walls, steps, spa, floor bottom). The walls and floor are slick to...

    White Chalky Substance

Hi guys, I have a two part question. When brushing the pool I've noticed a white chalky substance dispersing. Normally, only noticed it when brushing the steps of my plaster pool. Yesterday was the first time we braved the frigid pool temperature, in which we noticed the bottoms of our feet...

Spa Losing Water when Pump Off

As the title suggests, my raised spa is losing water whenever the pump isn't running. The level drops to jets but never gets lower than the jets. Of note the water loss occurs more rapidly when the Spa Suction Valve is left slightly open. But even when fully closed off the spa will still lose...

    SLAM Advice

Here's an update: Since Saturday, I've kept my FC between 12-16 and brushed till I was blue in the face! Additionally, I've manually vacuumed and the automatic vacuum cleaner runs daily. Yet the stain still persists!!! I'm not sure why or what it is but I cannot get rid of it. Of note, the...

    SLAM Advice

Okay. So raise the CYA after I get rid of the stain. Too easy. And no, the water temp is 64, a bit chilly for me to take the plunge! So to be on the safe sauce, raise the FC between 12-16 for a few days, until the stain disappears? Also, should I maintain the FC at those levels 24/7 like I...

    SLAM Advice

Being a noob, I have some questions regarding if I should SLAM or not. Yesterday and I did a OCLT because I found two places of random yellow stains in spa that would not brush off but would lighten with the application of a puck, the OCLT passed with losing 1.0 ppm of FC and O CC. However...

    Yellow Stain in Spa

Last night I noticed I had a yellow stain in my spa (which is attached to my poo) that wouldn't brush off. After doing some research, I placed a chlorine tab directly onto the stain and the stain lightened up. Today, when I checked the stain was gone on that spot but a new spot appeared ( see...

    Air Blower Leaking Water

Today, for the first time, when I had my pool in Spa mode only, I noticed water dripping from our air blower. It only occurs when the pool is in full Spa Mode only. Any ideas as to what would cause water leaking from the air blower? We've taken it off, tightened the screws and reapplied but...

    Determining Number of Gallons

Renting a house in which the owners know nothing about the pool, including its gallons. I've been using a rough estimate of 16,000 suggested by another forum user, but I am having trouble getting my chemicals straight. The final readings, after adding chemicals according to PoolMath, are always...

    Kreepy Krauly Problems

As long as the pump has been running for a while, the problem continues. It pulsates but doesn't move. But if I turn the pump off for a few hours, then start it back up the cleaner will work for a bit but doesn't move very fast. As far as signature, I know very little about the pool. It's an...

    Kreepy Krauly Problems

Recently, I've noticed that my automatic pool cleaner will work great for about the first hour or so when the pump is turned on, but any longer after that it stops moving. There are three valves, one for the vacuum line, suction, and main drain. The main drain is completely closed, and the...

    Replacement Cell

Not entirely for sure. The control box seems to be functioning correctly. At least it has power, I'm able to scroll through the different diagnostic readings. As for the cable, it cut at the end and frayed at multiple points throughout the length of it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Replacement Cell

That looks to be the case. We just moved into the house in December. And I'm not exactly sure how the cell was hooked up therefore I am unsure if it will be as simple as buying a new cell. Thoughts? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Replacement Cell

Hi, Currently I have a SWCG but no cell. The control box is a Aqua Rite Goldline. I believe the software version is r 1.40. My question is is it worth buying a replacement cell or just utilize the bleach method? Also, would it be fairly straightforward to install a new cell? Pictures are...

    First Test

Do I need to let the pump run overnight? Also, the pH has came up from below 6.8 to 7.8 utilizing aeration for 1 week. Should I give it more time? And I'll fix my signature asap! But some things are a gestimate that I'm trying to determine through trial and error. Sent from my iPhone using...

    First Test

Hi all. So I tested my water for the first time with my Taylor K-2006 test kit. My numbers are below: FC: 11 ppm pH: 7.2 TA: 30 CYA: 70 Water Temp: 53F I just added 84 oz of baking soda, half of what pool math calculated of 169. Should I bring my TA level up slowly or add all at once? Sent...

New Pool Owner... Correct Valve Placement

Jim, makes perfect sense. Add a jug of liquid chlorine to increase levels of FC and leave the pump on with full spa overflow for 24 hours to try and increase the pH. So I don't need to add anything to increase the pH just yet? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
