The one thing I see missing is a backflow check valve in the suction line between the pump and the pool. This would prevent the water from flowing back into the pool. The check valve could also be placed between the pump and filter.

Yes, there is a sloshing/air bubble in the pump strainer basket. There is a noise in the discharge line from the filter in the backwash valve at lower PSI.
