Interlocking concrete pavers: drains and base

I wasn't here when the base went in, only saw it after it was compacted (pretty sure it was compacted to 95% of what they thought was "good"). The settling I think has only been noticed by me. Not very much at all, but slightly around the poured in place coping, skimmer box. Pool deck is not...

Interlocking concrete pavers: drains and base

I just saw this post and started reading through your build post, beautiful yard/pool. We had the company doing our re-plaster/plumbing etc. install concrete pavers. Our old concrete was a mess. Initially, they weren't going to put down the membrane but I insisted on it, because we have a...

Any VS pumps with open communication protocols?

Hey, I was just speaking with a Vendor we use at work and he mentioned these "easy i/o" controllers he is using and building programs for. Believe he mentioned the "workbench" is internal to the controller as well. Check out the website. Easyio Internet based Bacnet, Sedona, Modbus.....I...

Pentair Intelliflo LCD screen backlights and buttons work, but nothing on Display

I've had the same thing happen with my pump a few times over the last couple of years. Each time it has self-corrected with a simple cycle of the power. I did see the thread you mentioned as well and anticipate having to open my panel up in the near future for a look.

Pump not working again suspect bad temp control

I'm not really sure what the purpose for the stat is in your situation. I do refrigeration and use these all the time L36-931 | Johnson Controls | A19ABC-24C | Johnstone Supply If you suspect this stat as being your problem, why not just jump it out and see if it corrects your timer/pump issue?

    1-1/2" vs 2" piping?

Ours was 1-1/2" at well over 20k gallons. We remodeled, shallowed pool to 16K play pool and went with 2" plumbing. Very happy with the versatility I have now in combination with the intelliflo pump and larger 60sf de filter.

    Question on shotcrete strength

I asked my PB about this and said it's generally a waste of time and money to require a crush test with shotcrete and most inspectors in different cities never ask for a crush test. He left me a bucket's worth just in case.

    Question on shotcrete strength

It went just fine actually. I took the bucket of shotcrete to a testing facility near my house and they cored 4 samples from it. The engineering spec'd that it had to meet or exceed the strength designated at 28 days. I convinced them to do it at 4 days on one sample and it easily passed. All...

    Advice on remodel consideration/ additions...Completed!

I never got around to posting the final pictures for our remodel. Yesterday we had our first pool/Birthday party for my little munchkin. It all went well, although I did find food in the pool this morning :suspect: and my Chlorine at 0, to be expected with 15 kids I suppose, oh and grilled...

Two day old coping and it is cracking already

My Pour in place coping was done a few months ago but the control joints go around the curve. I still have "micro cracks" here and there like yours. Like you, I was at work when they did the coping so didn't witness their method.

    Correcting wrong replastering

Wow what a bummer. I personally, after just having gone through the rehab process for the first time would be leery of the first option and whether or not the new bonded plaster finish would last. I would also be concerned with how it would look where it's "feathered" at the tile line, although...

    Dual Main Drains Question

In re-doing my pool recently I had the main drain split into two. My PB did this automatically, and I figured it was mandatory from what i've read. When the inspector came to give us the pre-plaster inspection he said, "oh it's good to split them". I said isn't it the law? His reply was that...

Sport type Pool or Traditional Deep End?????

We have a gunite pool that we just removed the diving board from and shallowed out a few feet. You could always go with the deep end and do the same if you don't dive much after all is said and done. It's easier to remodel and make it shallower than the other way around. For us, the main...

Do you recognize this motor? Mystery pump inside.

Another place you can check out for a replacement in SoCal is AAA motors. They have identified some really old, random OEM stuff before I have even reached the counter.

    Keeping gunite wet

Don't feel bad. We had shotcrete done a couple of weeks ago and they didn't mention anything about the wetting process with that. Glad I have this place to know how things are supposed to be done.

    Coping Glue Help

That looks like the stuff I used for the capstone on my paver seating wall. Think the masonry adhesive I used was made my "Dap". I had one or two pop off over the first week, so I used it liberally and have never had another problem. An epoxy like stated above is probably the best bet for your...

    Question on shotcrete strength

So we are having our pool redone and I have a question with regards to the shotcrete process during a remodel or new build. So we had our shotcrete done yesterday (thursday) and the PB said he's planning to plaster on Tuesday. A city inspector showed up today while I was at work and told my...
