Solar Breeze NX Time Lapse Video

Well, I finally got bored and made a time lapse video of our Solar Breeze NX. 16+ hours squished down to 2 minutes. It's still working good after a year of use, but have my fingers crossed that it will last a few more. Maybe I'll make another video in the fall when it really gets a workout...

    looking for covered patio ideas

I had a weird trapezoid shaped area where I wanted to put ours, finally decided to frame it myself, 6x6 columns, 6x12 beams, trusses with metal roof. Basically 16' wide, 15' long on one side, and 23' on the other. Cost about $7,000 in materials, and lots of my cheap labor. I priced...

    Hand Vacuum Recommendation

Thanks Yankee, I think I'll give this one a try, being the cheapskate that I am!

    Hand Vacuum Recommendation

Now that I use my robot vs the pool sweep, I get 4-5 areas where the dirt will settle out of reach of the robot. Looking for a small hand vacuum to get these areas as needed. Anyone have a recommendation? Thanks, Ken

    New Solar-Breeze questions

I have a similar problem, oak trees, 50% shade until noonish. But I can guarantee you it won't pickup 10 gallons of oak debris per week. Inevitably a lot will sink and will still need to removed via a good old fashioned net for a few months during the fall. But before and after the peak leaf...

Extending Wifi to the Pool Area

You could get one those WiFi extenders that use your existing electrical outlet wiring, such as this one: https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-PowerLINE-1000-802-11ac-Gigabit/dp/B01929V7ZG. I've never used one personally, but I think it would be an easy solution, plus you could add more for those dead...

    Choosing new patio furniture

The most comfortable patio sofa set I've ever sat on, but so dang expensive! The OW Lee Monterra series, which has a nice high back.

    Solar Pool skimmer

I got my NX last October just in time for the fall season. I must have lucked out and got a good one, since I've had no problems so far. The skimmer still does the bulk the work, as mentioned above. I run mine 5 hours a day, 10 to 3. But when the skimmer is off the NX is still our there...

where do you store your robot?

Built a small storage shed to keep out of the weather when not in use. Also serves as water testing table.

    Solar Breeze NX Arrived Today

So far it seems to be doing the job quite well. It has gotten stuck a couple times, once when the corner lifted up onto the skimmer opening edge, and the reverse process didn't have enough power to pull itself off. Another when it bottomed out onto one of my steps. Attached is a picture I took...

    Solar Breeze NX Arrived Today

Just got my Solar Breeze NX today. Didn't have a chance to examine it too much, but appeared to be built well. We sat it in the sun for a couple hours to charge, read the manual, then into the pool it went. Seemed to do what's expected, but I'll report back after a week or so of use. Ken

    Protective Cover for Polaris 9450

I built a small wood cabinet backed up to my fence, on my deck. Around 42" high, 30" wide, 24" deep, with swinging door on front. Used fence boards over 2x2's, with roof felt underneath to keep most of the rain out. Also doubles as workbench for water testing, and stores other small stuff...

Is it CREEPY to have a security camera pointed at the pool area?

It's kind of nice to be able to check it while away. Here's one I just snapped on my iPhone while at work (fixed camera). I see a couple squirrels running across the deck. :)

    Solarr-Breeze NX--just pre-ordered... Tell me I didn't make a huge mistake

Jay, how many inches below the water is the step that was causing the issue? I'm just wondering if there's a range that potential buyers need to consider before pulling the trigger on this pricey toy. Are we talking something like between 2 and 3 inches, then beware? Thanks, Ken

    New to TFP

Thanks! This site has been a wealth of info so far. Quick question on the SWG...even if the pump speed is as low as ~1700 rpm, the SWG still generates the same amount of chlorine, right? Right now I've got it programmed to run at 1700 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm, then up to 2600 rpm until 3:00...

    New to TFP

Hello all, First post here. After paying a pool guy for several years at $55/month to just handle the chemicals, I've decided to go the TFP route. We just finished remodeling our 25 year old pool, basically everything except digging the hole and gunnite. Equipment listed in signature...
