Getting started in Coppell, TX (DFW)

Hello everyone. Quick update... I put the pool plans on hold as I thought we were moving. Those plans feel through so back to planning the pool! Meeting with PB2 this week to finalize design and price. I will post details here before signing the contract.

    Building a new pool...best/mandatory features?

Really good info here. We are about to start building and I agree with everything Jimrahbe said.

Both are nice designs but I like how PB2's design drops with the natural drop of my backyard. With PB1 design if I was in the lower part of my yard looking back at my house I would see a bunch of rock sticking up. PB2 design is lower and will help mitigate this. I also like the "fingertip"...

Montgomery TX pool & patio build!

I am a huge fan of the flagstone and waterline tile. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Nope. This was their response: "I can tell you we’ve been in business for over 22 years and if our pricing wasn’t where it needed to be, we wouldn’t be in business. Our specialty is the engineering and I can assure you no one in the industry builds a pool like we do."

Quick update. PB1 stated the grotto was $4k. Deleting the grotto would be $92k vs $74k. I liked PB1 but not enough to justify the price difference.

You're right Kimber. I asked PB2 and they stated a grotto would be additional $5k-$6k. PB1 didn't itemize it so I emailed them asking how much the grotto was and how much the proposal would be without it.

Thank you Kim! Regarding the number of returns, both PB's had a 2HP blower in the spa with 8 "therapy" jets. I assume this means they don't count against the pool returns.

Thank you very much for the info! I see I have a lot of work to do. Beautiful yard and pool Maddie! I love how you kept the natural look of your backyard. That is our goal as well. I am on it Kim. I noticed on the bids coming in there is not a lot of detail. I will go ahead and post...

I cannot state how helpful this forum has been. I am a member of numerous online forums and this one is by far the most friendly and most helpful. We talked to multiple pool builders across DFW ranging from the big boys to the mom and pops. Narrowed it down to a handful of PB's that actually...

Anyone used Riverbend Sandler's Riversand? (similar to Pebble Sheen)

We are in DFW and considering Riverbend Sandler for our PB. They make their own in-house aggregate called River Sand (similar to Pebble Tec Pebble Sheen). I expressed I want a smooth plaster so not to scrape up our feet. Anyone here use it? It felt ok to my hand but obviously a lot different...

Looks so good Kim! Will the PVC bubbler pipes be cut and be flush with the plaster? Or will the pipe stick up to the waterline? Also what type of dog is that? Looks like a blue heeler with some mix?

Hmm. I'll research it more. I know it's subjective based on pool size but what was the cost differential for pebbletec and quartz?

Gorgeous pool! Riverbend is coming out on Monday for a consultation. I was told Quartz plaster is smoother than PebbleTec. Is yours smooth for the kiddos' feet?
