    Drain pool water without backwashing

Finished piping to my backwash line. I couldn't keep the pipe that actually swivels to my backwash pipe connected cause the water would rush out that end before going thru the long run of pipe to woods. Had to put a cap on for now where T is. I can still just pop the cap off since I didn't...

    Drain pool water without backwashing

Here's what I was thinking. Do I really need a valve on the other side? With the spigot there wasn't. Not sure I have the plumbing room for a valve on the filter side.

    Drain pool water without backwashing

could I put a 2" ball valve union on the end instead of a spigot and hook up 1.5" pvc to drain excess? I don't like dealing with hoses and the blue backwash lines.

    Drain pool water without backwashing

Thats what I use to have but I got rid of it when I replumbed it last year. Question, if I put a T connector where the elbow is could I put a ball valve union on there instead of a spigot and hook up 1.5" pvc to drain excess?

    Drain pool water without backwashing

So I have plenty of sump pumps and the proper 1.5 pvc piping to attach it to my backwash line so that can just throw the pump on the step and drain without draining below skimmer. But I am simply looking for something turn key. I have a backwash pvc line that goes out to the woods I back to and...

    Drain pool water without backwashing

Hi, trying to make things easier for myself for my pool maintenance. I have a hayward slide piston valve with open and closed for backwashing (DE Filter). I used to have a hose bib for draining the pool water but deleted it when I replumbed everything last year. I never really used the bib cause...

    FC is burning fast

Good reads. thanks. I've read them before. I guess the problem is time, I don't have enough of it. I never had a problem of maintaining FC levels. I shocked once a week, kept a puck or 2 in skimmer. This year nothing works. Frequency is key I guess. I'll keep logging my results.

    FC is burning fast

New user here, hello everyone! Pool is clean and clear. 2 days ago I added 10 gallons of liquid chlorine that got rid of some visible algae on walls. After trying my usual powder 3-4 lb of shock routine I wasn't getting any FC readings. FC was sky high of course. Yesterday morning I was at 5...
