Continuous Muriatic Acid Addition to Control pH

I am in NC as well. I also have had to continually battle the high PH ever since I installed our SWG. I have adopted a dual method of chlorination to help try and keep the PH rise manageable. I keep my SWG set to a fairly low level of output and supplement chlorine with 3inch pucks in a...

Rigid PVC heated and bent in OKC spa!

Just finished re plumbing our pool. I used the torch and propane bottle method extensively. We would lay the 10ft sticks of 2" pvc on the driveway. One person at one end rolling it on the ground while the other person ran the heat down the pipe. Took a few tries to get it right but it was...

    Circulation with spa and pool

I'm in the middle of renovating an IG pool/ spill over spa combination. My question is how do most people have the water recirculating. My thought was you open the suction on the pool valves. Close the returns on the pool. Return the water to the spa so that it spills over. If that is...

    NC RENOVATION

Removing the remaining concrete from the bond beam has been a job! A 7" grinder with a diamond tipped blade is doing the trick. Very slow going. http://www.flickr.com/photos/glider304g ... otostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/glider304g ... hotostream DJ

    NC RENOVATION

Well I've ran into a little difficulty removing the cantilever concrete decking from the pools bond beam. In some spots the deck separated from the bond beam as I had hoped. In other places the bond beam seams to be disintegrating as I try and separate the two. Has anyone ever run into this...

    NC RENOVATION

I don't know for sure why it was covered. My neighbor speculates that the pool was leaking and one of the previous owners thought it was the spa so he disconnected the lines and covered over the top of it. We're probably just going to fill it in.

    NC RENOVATION

Started the removal of the concrete deck today. Four guys, a jackhammer, two wheelbarrows, and a lot of hard work. Got a little over half the concrete out. Also found a spa that had been cover up with plywood and 3inches of concrete. http://www.flickr.com/photos/glider304g ... otostream/

    NC RENOVATION

Thanks Bruce, Removed all of the brass screws in the deck this weekend. Wasn't too bad with a rotary hammer drill. Should be able to reuse them in the new deck. Oh, the floater used during the original transformation from swamp to clear water. http://www.flickr.com/photos/glider304g ...

    NC RENOVATION

This site has been a great source of information for me so I thought I'd post some pics of my renovation that will be starting this month. The pool is about 30 years old, concrete with plaster and a coat or two of paint over that. We moved into this house last year knowing that the pool would...
