Thanks cowboycasey, I think I will utilize the old frogger and fill it with pucks. I guess looking at it I only have a few weeks left before I close it for the season anyway but I guess I shouldn't let it go. I will have to read up on closing procedures also!

My pool is absolutely crystal clear and it only took a week! Now I have another question, while maintaining the correct chlorine levels (trying around 3) I try to use the basic k-1000 kit but I honestly cannot tell the difference of the yellows???? What appears to be 5 that test only yields 2...

Guess I missed judged what it was going to take to get my pool right...I thought that 16 gallons of 12% would get me through the season but it has only lasted a week! My pool is now crystal clear but I have not passed my OCLT. I have to be getting close so it has to pass very soon....hopefully!

Well here I am another success story, pool is clear and hopefully tonight I will be done slamming the pool. 2 nights ago I lost 4.5ppm over night and last night I only lost 2 so hopefully tonight I will be 1 or less and be able to bring the pool into normal conditions! Thanks all for the help...

I was doing what the pool math calculator told me to do.....Just checked and my chlorine levels are above the 5 10 color on chlorine/ph test...my ph went to 7.8 also. Rookie mistake I guess. So now the chlorine levels are high do I just let them come down and try to balance everything out?

I added the stabilizer, I didn't put the full recommended amount last night but I added what the pool calculator said tonight. It is the granule type, all I could find at Walmart.

My boys had baseball practice in a different town so I ended up going to Walmart. Found everything I needed but I did find one thing with chlorine... I ended up buying the Great Value bleach but I did see they had pool chlorine on sale for $2.50/gallon and said 10% chlorine but I didn't buy it...

Completed!!! Thank you! I was so worried about the top half of the calculator I didn't get down far enough to read the bottom. I since have taken a couple deep breaths and feeling confident!

Think I have a grip on things now! Off to Toledo to get the recommended chemicals and cross my fingers. If this calculator thing really works I will be very upset with myself for waiting this long and fighting the pool for the past 8 years! Seems to easy!

I'm a little confused when using the pool calculator unless it's right, do I really need to replace 55% of my pool water? Also with pool calculator, I don't have a "NOW" column.... I have Goal: NOT SETUP.......I assume NOT SETUP is my "NOW"??? Going to try and search this forum for answer?

Ok, finally back from vaca and went right out and did my tests and here are the results: FC .5 CC .5 CH 350 TA 170 CYA Less than 20ppm???? filled to top and could still see black dot. Also updated sig with filter and pump info. NOTE: this is my 8th season and my filter has never had the top off...

Ok, I'm getting ready to leave and I pulled the frog bac pac out and filled it with large chlorine tablets. Just trying not to come home to a green pool??? Cant wait to come home to my new test kit!

Just ordered the TF100 and the speedstir. What brand and place do you buy the bleach/chlorine? Here's another issue...going on vacation tomorrow for the next 5 days.....with my pool a mess and not getting the kit in time to test water before I leave, what do you recommend I do to try and keep it...
