Electrical - Trips GFCI as soon as plugged in

Hey thanks for the tip. Was just out back trying that. I was able to get it to rotate but it did not turn easily. Not sure what is expected. Pretty sure the capacitor is toast, I think most of the corrosion is from the capacitors fluid leaking out. The capacitor would also not spark when I...

Electrical - Trips GFCI as soon as plugged in

Outlet worked fine with my flood light. Pump appears to be toast, tried it again and it hummed this time before tripping the breaker inside. With the corrosion in the case is a rebuild worth the 125-150? Or should I just pick up a new one for 350ish? Should I be considering other brands or...

Electrical - Trips GFCI as soon as plugged in

I'll double check my work. I'm almost certain it is installed correctly. The outlet is a 120, and the pump is wired to run on 120. The problem was occurring before I replaced the outlet as well.

Hey everyone, this forum was a huge help last year. I was hoping my opening would go much more smoothly this year but.... I'm having some electrical issues. Last year the pump would occasionally trip the GFCI outlet, but I figured it was moisture related. Going to open the pool today and the...

    'A situation'

Pool is crystal clear today. Did not take a FC reading last night but don't think I lost much overnight. Will be testing tonight. Thanks for the help everyone. Took 10 days to go from black swamp to oasis. Last Friday I did a deep clean of the DE filter - soaking in dishwasher detergent and...

    'A situation'

Water regularly slows to a trickle without any DE - pressure rising from 17 when just hosed off to 23 - when water flowing from the ports is very low. Any ideas?

    'A situation'

Surprise! I have a cartridge (EDIT - DE?) filter not sand.... Old owners just happened to have a 50lb bag of pool sand lying around for some reason. It desperately needed some love. I cannot figure out how to remove the cartridge - the PVC seems to be attached very firmly. I removed a bolt on...
