    SeanB and the hurricane

Just checked in to say hello. 2nd day back to work (never lost power- go figure). Still without power at the house. Not expected to have any back until October according to the line crews in the area. On a pool note, thankfully I heavily chlorinated the pool before the storm. Besides the...

Will Salt consumption stabalize in a Pool

Fairly new to Salt Pools (2 yrs running). Within the last 2 months of heavy pool use, splashout, evaporation, etc. I have not added an ounce of salt. Generator is set at 35% for summer months. TC runs 4-5 constant. Readout on my PS-8 has not changed from 3500 since March. Salt test strips...

    Stupid Pet Tricks

Well, it is nice to know that I am not alone. I still have to chalk up the best one when my previous lab chewed the break lines on my truck. RT - No, she did not jump in. She simply grabbed the line from the side of the pool and went to town. All in all, I would not trade her for the...

    Stupid Pet Tricks

I have a new one for you. Your Black Lab manages to grab your Polaris out of the pool, Chew the hose into a million pieces. Mind you, the pool is on and running, along with the booster. You come home to water pouring out of your front yard and wonder what the heck is going on. Price of a new...

    2 or 3 colorlogic/intellibright lights in 20X40 pool?

Re: do you have? Yes, that is a deep end. I have 2 love benches in the pool. The one on the left has an additional step added to make it a little easier to get out of the pool. Works great for the older folks and my lab. Good luck with your decisions.

    2 or 3 colorlogic/intellibright lights in 20X40 pool?

My pool is a 22 x 34 custom built. Although I went with white plaster, I would suggest at least 3 lights in the pool with the darker finish you plan to use. Obviously the darker finish will tend to absorb the light and not reflect it. Therefore, another one(3 lights + 1 spa) would help to...

Suggestions on setting up my new Polaris 280?

Make small adjustments when you screw in/out the little buoy on the top. Also, small adjustments on the outlet port on the back of the unit itself. A little goes a long way.

Happy New Year back to everyone as well. I will be a little lighter in the pocket come next month when the gas bill arrives. Had a pool party last weekend. Had the pool @ 85 degrees and the Spa @ 99 Degrees. Someone needs to invent a grill top that fits above the heater vent, yet still...

What equipment is better Jandy or Hayward?

I have both brands in my equipment. Very easy to work on, maintain, and service. Knock on wood, mine have been in service for over a year now without any warranty repairs/ issues. Best of luck with your choices. Welcome to TFP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hayward Phantom

Besides the Ph rising, salt/ CYA dropping with rain, my chemistry has been within bounds. I can see too that I forgot to upload some shots of the screen. Everytime I look at it, it looks like the weld (used to weld the screen) is what is rusting out... not the screen itself.

    Pet Pictures

Vince, funny you mention that. I have owned labs all my life. Very familiar with the chew factor. One funny story I can offer is: One of my labs (Shasta- Black female), chewed the break lines off of my truck. I pulled out of the garage and started down the road as usual only to run a stop...

    What's your current pool temp?

Checked mine yesterday. Just with the warm temps we have had the last couple of days, my water temp was at 73 deg. F. I tested the water by throwing my boy in. He stayed in so I figured what the heck. An hour later, we were done.
