    New Here- Air In Pump!

Did the bucket test and the pool is definitely leaking unfortunately.... Do pool companies have a tool where they can test a line to see where a leak would be?

    New Here- Air In Pump!

Those links didn't work, but let's check a few other things. First, make sure there is a leak and the pool is truly dropping because I've had similar symptoms before. Fill a bucket and mark the water level and compare to the pool drop to be sure it isn't evaporation.- Thanks! Will try this...

    Underground Suction Leak?

Have had no issue with pool until yesterday and I am stumped..... I believe I have a leak between the skimmer and the pump. (Checked unions of PVC, skimmer gasket, skimmer top, and draing plygs) There is just one underground(under concrete) line but the funny this is I only lose water while...

    New Here- Air In Pump!

Pchase, Thank you so much for the help, see below: 1) You have a direct line from the skimmer to the pump and there is a valve there. If that valve is fully open, you will suck down into the strainer basket and pump air. If you close it a bit, the water level in the basket will come up and you...

    New Here- Air In Pump!

New development- I noticed over night that it leaked about 1/2" over the last 12-14 hours, does this confirm there is a leak under the cement? Any advice on how to proceed?

    New Here- Air In Pump!

Pchase- The main drain at the bottom of the pool was closed shut many years ago before I bought the house. So yes the entire suction is on the strainer but thats how it has been for a long time. Also yes the cleaner hose is full of water. Dont know if this helps or not but the most air out of...

    New Here- Air In Pump!

    New Here- Air In Pump!

I appreciate the help Richard, do you recommend me just trying to replace the valve since this is the only thing that really makes sense at this point?

    New Here- Air In Pump!

I tested that as well... with the pump off and lid open i turned the valve off and on. Does connecting a suction cleaner cause the pressure to increase which would make more air pull in through a potential leak?

Pool Leak When Pump is off / Vacuum loses Prime

mkPenny did you even find a solution? My pump sucks a lot of air when fully open and vacuum looses prime almost immediately When my valve from the skimmer to the pump is 3/4 open the pump has zero air but stil loses prime immediately when a suction cleaner is attached..... Im not sure what...

    New Here- Air In Pump!

What I am still stuck on is when the valve is fully open it has air in pump but at 3/4 open it primes. That means it has to be the valve that is the issue you would think, but even when its primed and you plug the suction cleaner to the skimmer it loses prime after 1 or 2 seconds
