    Baffled!

Yes, it started before the new filter. We only got the filter this past week.

    Baffled!

Yes, I have been able to operate it on full drain or skimmer in the past. As a matter of fact, the only way my Navigator pool cleaner would work was if it was on full skimmer. It operated great, with no air bubbles. Last year it started acting up & got worse as the summer went on. This...

    Baffled!

Okay. I used a wet towel. I wrapped it around every place on the suction side of the pump that could possibly have a leak--all plumbing, every place that has anything at all sticking out of the pump---and I soaked it with water while it was wrapped in place. It made no difference. I did...

    Help, please!? Drainbuster is stuck!!

I found the solution on a plumbers' forum. We had to disconnect the hose from the spigot, then, twist it in a clockwise direction while pulling it out of the drain. Worked like a charm! :whoot: Thank you to all who tried to help.

    Baffled!

We have a 10,000 gallon, inground pool. Whenever I switch suction to main drain only, the basket at the pump immediately fills up with air. Not completely, but enough to cause a lot of air to come out of the return jets and lower the pressure on the filter. The same thing happens if I close...

    Help, please!? Drainbuster is stuck!!

Clarification....the snake didn't get stuck in there, it just couldn't go any further so I pulled it out. It's the drainbuster & hose that are stuck. Thanks!

    Help, please!? Drainbuster is stuck!!

Hi. I am sure there's a clog between my main drain & the skimmer basket. I tried to snake it & it got stuck. So I put the drainbuster in there, & I could see some stuff coming out of the drain, but not much. So I pushed the drainbuster down as far as I could. And now it's stuck. The water...

    Name That Part!

That tip sent me in the right direction. I believe it is called a "Flo-Selector Control w/Valve." Thank you all very much!

    Name That Part!

Hi, Randy. Mine doesn't look anything at all like yours. It's a Hayward, but I don't know the part number. I have looked at many diagrams online, as you suggested. I found one that pictured the part, but there was no name or manufacturers part number. I would like to know that so I can shop...

    Name That Part!

This setup is not causing me any problems. It works fine. However, I do need to replace the part, and I still need to know what it's really called. Thanks for the replies!

    Name That Part!

Under the skimmer basket there's a white cover, with a valve on one side, that covers two suction holes--one hole is covered by the white thing, and the other hole is exposed, but there's a slide plate on a screw that you can use to cover it. What is the white cover thing with the valve on it...

    How much CYA to add?

I know the question is probably on this forum somewhere, but Dang if I can find it! I'm getting a zero cya reading. I have a 10,000 gal. inground pool. How much CYA should I add? Thanks in advance!

    Suction/Vacuum trouble. Please help!?

New finding.... I checked and lubed the o-ring yesterday, & it's clear. Ok, I'm don't know the terminology, so please bear with me. Under the skimmer basket there's a hole and there's a valve. Last year, I would put the valve in the vertical position when I wanted to vacuum. I noticed...

    Suction/Vacuum trouble. Please help!?

Nature2 cartridge Dave, I believe you about the Nature 2 Cartridge. I only reordered a new cartridge because it was the easiest thing to do. I wouldn't know how to take it off and close off where it connects. So this season I'll have another cartridge in there. Maybe in the fall, or next...

    Suction/Vacuum trouble. Please help!?

Thanks. I have backwashed repeatedly, followed by rinsing. Pressure comes back down to 15, where it used to come down to 12. Could it be because I need a new Nature2 cartridge? I've ordered one & I'm waiting for delivery. If it's the automatic chlorinator I'm not sure how to clean that...

    Suction/Vacuum trouble. Please help!?

Problem: not enough suction to work vacuum :-( Pool: 10,000 Gal., inground, w/Sand filter, Nature 2 Express cartridge and automatic chlorinator. No debris clogging air vent in pump, impeller moves freely. The pressure on the filter doesn't want to go below 15, where last year it went down...

Crackling sound from jet, air in line??

I checked out your suggestions There doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary going on in the skimmer basket. So I cleaned off the lid where the other basket is and around the gasket (is that the rubbery part into which the lip of the lid fits?). Then I took the gasket (?) out and I put...

Crackling sound from jet, air in line??

This is our first season with a pool. It's a 10K gallon inground with a sand filter. We added salt after reading many positive posts in regards to chlorine pools with salt, and we're very pleased with the results. We love our pool! Recently there has been a crackling-type sound coming from...

    FOUND ~ 1 Bug!! :(

Saving Bugs I have the opportunity to save many little dragonflies whenever I'm in the pool. I save them and spiders, too, if I can because they both eat mosquitos.
